Meet James, our stunning 2.5-year-old, 165-pound Old English Mastiff! This gentle giant is the epitome of "dreamy" and is ready to find his forever home.
James is an owner surrender, as his previous family was unable to meet his needs. However, he comes with a solid foundation: he knows basic obedience commands, walks well on a leash, travels nicely in the car, and is both house and crate trained. Inside the home, he’s well-mannered and gets along with other dogs, although he can be a rough player. Please note that he’s not suitable for homes with chickens or ducks, and he’s untested with cats but indifferent to deer and squirrels.
James loves going to doggie daycare at Paw Pals a few times a week, where he enjoys playing with his friends. He also loves long walks by the river and meeting new people. Though he has a bit of a stubborn streak, this sweet-natured boy thrives with patient and consistent leadership.
James would do best in a home with extra-large breed experience, a fenced yard, and plenty of love to offer. Mastiffs are incredibly loyal, and James will need some time to adjust to his new environment. If you're ready to open your heart and home to this lovable giant, James is waiting for you!
Owning a dog is not just a privilege; it’s a responsibility. They depend on us for, at minimum, food and shelter, and deserve much more. When you take a dog into your life, you need to understand the commitment that dog ownership entails. So please before you apply be sure you are not just ready for the joy but are prepared for the responsibility.
Fostered in Congers.
Before applying to adopt a puppy, we encourage you to research the financial and time commitments involved in raising a dog. It’s important to have discussions as a family, especially if this is your first dog. We recommend looking into training options as well.
We will begin processing applications this week, and the review process may take anywhere from 1 to 15 days. Thank you for yo

Meet Paula and Patti!
These adorable 9-week-old medium mixed breed sisters are the delightful daughters of Penelope, who is a wonderful 30-pound momma. With their lovely temperaments inherited from Penelope, these pups are sure to steal your heart!
Paula is the slightly larger sister at 6 pounds, sporting a lighter face with a beautiful black and brown coat. She is the adventurer and leader. Confident and proud.
Patti, on the other hand, is the darker and sweeter and gentler of the two, weighing in at 5 pounds with a stunning black and tan coat.
Both girls are perfectly well-socialized and get along wonderfully with people, pets, and new environments. They have a happy and somewhat mellow demeanor for puppies, often entertaining themselves. They are already using pee pads and enjoy outdoor potty breaks when they have access. At night, they sleep peacefully in their pen, and during the day, they play intermittently, cherishing their cuddle time—especially Patti, who loves to snuggle!
Their foster family describes them as “quiet and adaptable, seamlessly fitting into any household energy level whether it's a quiet cozy night in or a bustling gathering. They are always comfortable”
As for their breed, Penelope, their mom, is a sweet basic brown dog found pregnant in Puerto Rico. She’s been an amazing mother, and with the help of her foster, Michelle, Paula and Patti have been raised with an abundance of love. While we see traits of beagle, Jack Russell, whippet, fiest, and chihuahua in them, only a DNA test can give a definitive answer. We anticipate these charming girls will mature to around 30 pounds, making them the perfect medium-sized companions.
Come meet Paula and Patti—you'll be charmed by their inquisitive nature and loving personalities!
