Your Dog Could Be A Therapy Dog

You can become part of Paws Hand Delivered/Alliance of Therapy Dogs and share your special canine companion in a variety of situations around the community. The therapy dogs are involved in sharing their special love with individuals through-out Crawford County, Erie County, and Mercer County. To be tested, a dog must be at least one year of age, and the handler must own or have had a close relationship with the dog for a minimum of six months before testing.

For additional information, visit the website for Alliance of Therapy Dogs and follow the directions prior to testing. Remember, a registered therapy dog IS NOT a service dog. A therapy dog does not have the legal rights of a service dog and will not be permitted into places where dogs are not allowed to be. The next testing date is scheduled for Sunday, February 4, beginning at 12:30 at the Conneaut Lake Sportsman’s Club on Route 18N in Conneaut Lake. You will need to schedule an appointment to get evaluated.
