Local Therapy Dogs Can Do It All
The Paws Hand Delivered Therapy Dogs (PHD) serving over 35 venues in and around Crawford County can help out the community in a large variety of ways.
PHD can add your organization, company, etc to their venue list and visit your facility monthly, bi-weekly, and even weekly and share the love and comfort with individuals in attendance.
We are also available to attend a community event so the public can interact directly with these amazing animals.
There are presently over 35 therapy dogs serving the communities in Crawford County. If you would like your canine partner to become a certified therapy dog contact Sue at 814-671-2809.
Dogs must be one year of age to be evaluated. The next therapy dog testing is scheduled for Sunday, August 18th, at the Conneaut Lake Sportsman.

When our dogs are at a public event, they are required to remain at least four feet apart for safety. But when the work is over and the weekend hits, they love to party together! Supervised by their handlers, these pups had the opportunity to run free, chase each other, and share the hose water - just look at those smiles.

PHD dogs and handlers visited the Andover Public Library in Andover, OH last week. Community members were invited to the "Paws to Read" program and experienced dogs' love and attention while reading to them.

PHD Handlers accompanied their dogs who had the honor of attending the Celebration of Life event at the Yolanda Barco Oncology Institute. It was a great, heart-warming opportunity to gather with cancer survivors and their families, along with the hard-working, compassionate YBOI staff.

PHD's Rockie, Orla, and Remi brought their handlers to today's Mental Health Fair held at the Downtown Mall in Meadville. Bonnie, Maria, and Dee set up a table for the public to learn more about PHD and meet the dogs. It's no secret to us: dogs are key to maintaining a healthy state of mind! PHD has had a busy week, and it's only Wednesday! This photo was taken during a regular visit at Evans Square in Conneaut Lake. We've already had dogs at the ARC, the library, Juniper Village, and more. Coming up this week: Wesbury, schools and daycares, and a special engagement at the Mental Health Fair for CHAPS. PHD doggos Maddy, Chilly, Luna, and Remi were the stars at a presentation for a local motorcycle group, the Wing'd Riders, a chapter based in Fredonia, PA. Each handler gave a brief description of their dog and shared some of the rewarding moments experienced as a therapy dog team. Charlene and Dee demonstrated what happens at the initial evaluation: how to lead the dog, stop and greet each other, and positioning the dog to be safely pet. PHD is thankful this wonderful group reached out to learn more about therapy dogs!
