Dear K&R customers,

When you bring a mare to be bred at our barn, please work with your horses ahead of time if they do not lead or stand tied.

It is not our job to teach your horse to lead and to stand tied. They need to come with those manners already. We have had a few clients drop horses off that haven’t been handled at all. This Is not acceptable.

Keep in mind, we are handling these horses daily. We are wrapping their tails, cleaning their “area” before they are bred, and more. Please be considerate.

If you have a mare that has some quirks, that’s ok, just let us know ahead of time but PLEASE teach your mare manners before you bring them to be bred. Certain mares can make this job very dangerous to not only us but our studs.

Jackson got to take his horse home today! He named her “Sarah.”

She was Maggie to us and is such a special two year old. She loaded today for the first time ever. She took a step in, then off, then she jumped right in! These horses are so smart! Not to mention, she’s only ever had a pad on her back once and she’s already letting Jackson on board!

Jackson, we know you’ll do a fine job making her your own 😉
