2022 SANCTUS mare.

She had cutting training from Feb. 2023 to Dec. 23. She works flag and cattle. She needs more training in cutting but would excel more as a heel horse or anything with cattle.

She’s 14.1 almost 14.2. Solid. No vices. Sound. UTD on vaccines and coggins.

If she doesn’t sell she is heading out west for training in April on the heel side.

Two mares for sale.

My Smart Yuba is broke but hasn’t been rode in four years. She stands about 14.2, 2007 model. She is sound and bred back to our Poco stud. She was confirmed in foal and was 25 days on July 15. She is not panel tested.

Yubas Aristolena is. 2006 model. She is not broke but leads, stands tied, loads. She is a range mare. She is about 14.1. She was confirmed in foal, 20 days on July 15. She does require a stitch when in foal. She has not been panel tested. She is bred back to our SLL stud.

Both mares will pasture breed but we have been hand breeding them for the last three years.

Feed more hay! 🙌🏻

Going to keep this as simple as you should...Want to help your horse stay warm during cold nights??

Feed more hay!

Horses are better equipped to deal with cold than we are. Aside from their thick, insulated coat, the digestion of forage acts like an internal furnace to help warm them from the inside out.

You can use a slow feeder to slow down the fast eaters or “fluffy” ones (🙋🏼‍♀️ I have one of those!), but having access at all times is important.

A few other things to consider are adding extra salt or an electrolyte (like Bluebonnet Hydrate and Recover) or wetting down existing feed to help with water consumption. For older horses with bad teeth, increase their chopped forage or hay pellets at their evening meal. Avoid adding things they don’t eat on a daily basis like a mash of something other than their normal feed or a type of hay they don’t already eat daily. This can only add to digestive distress.

At the end of a cold day, feed more hay 😘
