Hey Peoples! YOu know rainy days are good for sleeping ( on your back with all 4's straight up in the air) and sometimes for reflecting.
Well me and the lady were sitting outside under the umbrella this morning and I was just thinking about how I am glad the lady is letting me stay with her. I was remembering when I was chained to a tree in the pouring rain, or snow, or heat. In this weather a good pupper could drowned so I was happy I could run inside when this crazy lady said "Lets go" ! Anyway, she was telling me about a new foster that is staying at my doghouse. His name is Goliath, and that is a fitting name. You know how he came to stay with us????? Well a couple of the gals with HARTMANS HAVEN DOG RESCUE was at the vet with a load of cute puppies. The lady noticed someone bringing a dog into the next room. His head was down and his graying, white face just didn't look happy at all ! But the lady was there helping with the cute puppies and of course everyone was squealing and loving on those puppies! The lady said next thing she knew , our friend Sarah was peeking in the door with tears falling from her red eyes, asking to speak to our assistant director, Brittany! We all thought Oh No!! This can't be good! Well the old, graying, white, faced dog was being brought in the be euthantized. Not because he was terrible sick but because they just didn't want to fix him. Yep you guessed it, it was Goliath! Goliath had been an inside dog for 8 years but for some reason his people decided they didn't want him inside anymore so he was tied outside for the last 2 years. He was outside and was not given any heartworm prevention, so now he has heartworms and they didn't want to treat him! Just "put him down" they said!!!???? ARE YOU BELIEVING THIS!!!!???? We couldn't!!! Brittany said YES, we will take him. Then she looked at the lady and said "where am I going to put him?" The lady explained to me that Hartman's is always needing fosters because there are too many hurting, neglected and abused dogs. They save as many as we can but without fosters they can only do so much. Well the lady being a little long in the tooth herself, couldn't stand the thought of Goliath not having anywhere to go sooooo, he is visiting my Dog House until he completes his treatments! The lady says we hear this story way too much and the gals at Hartmans have really big hearts and it's hard to say no to a dog in need....especially when his sad eyes are staring up at you! Now this is how Hartman's always stays in debt to the vets office, according to the lady , she says they need fosters, YES, they also need money for medical bills, they need help with fundraisers to make money and with transport. The lady says if you have 10 minutes or 10 cents,,Hartman's can use it. And ALL the money goes to the puppers, like me and Goliath! If you would like to help with Goliath's heartworm treatments please give. Either to Hartman's Haven Dog Rescue or to Conover Vet. Please consider helping! Me, the lady and Hartman's have done all we can do....without your help! Remember its all tax deductable!! Try to stay dry everyone. Be glad you have a dry home....remember there are many puppers that don't! Love from the Dog House, Drucilla.
PS The dumb lady will post a picture of Goliath..but it will be in the newsfeed. She can't figure out how to get the picture to my page! Geez, I get all the luck! Trying to break her from using those "need sunday school" words is hard enough, now this! What's a pupper to do??
