I harvested some comb honey this week. It will be at all markets till gone. We pack 24 quarts today.

Had a simple rescue in North Houston by the big airport. It was a shipping company. Bees got into a case of oil field equipment. No ladder and on the ground. Box was 8 ft by 3 ft and bees were in one third half way filling one third. . Got two tubs of honey and some brood. Second set of photos is me adding the bees to a small hive to give it more strength. Got over three gallons of honey, but no good comb to put into jars

I tried a little rescue Wednesday. Bee in a tree that was cut down. Bad needs is the bees had already left. Look at all the branches that he had already cut off. We got into it to see inside. No brood and no honey comb. Just some old comb.

We were blessed Saturday Nov 14 by the Conroe Courier and Sunday by the Houston Chronicle. Both papers did a nice article about the Honey house. We are open for pick up or orders to be delivered. Since we have started selling jalapeño jelly, it has become our best seller. A mixture of hot peppers with red and green peppers . A good mix of sugar, cigar vinagar and pectin finishes with a sweet and not to hot jelly. Yes that jar is half gone because we had boneless pork grilled on the stove top. Yum!

The best news is that Grogan’s mill market has reopened. At the old Randelss parking lot from 8 to noon every Saturday. The layout is a little dirrerant. Instead of the public in the center area. The public now goes around the exterior. It helps with social distancing.

The good news , looking at the picture below is out new additions of jalapeño jelly with enough heat and a good sweet follow. The second is tomato Jam. Start with 8 lbs of good ripe Rome tomatoes. A little brown sugar. , cider vigor spices including some red pepper flakes and then five hours of simmering it reduces to 9 / 8 oz jars of rich red tomato jam. Yum

He have recovered and bottled 5 quarts of honey with honey comb. I had a standing order so I have four remaining. First come first re-served.
Until Grogan’s reopens we will continue to have the Honey house open at 621 mosswood Conroe from 10 to 1 pm and also Culver’s on the north loop at the same time every Saturday.

We will again be at Culver’s from 10 to one at 1426 north loop 336 west Conroe. Look for the honey van.
We will also have the Honey house open at 621 Mosswood Conroe from 10 to 1 This is where we do all our processing.
I also added 6 additional hives to the Moorhead blueberry farm.

Well since the Grogan’s mill market has closed we will be at Culver’s parking lot at 1426 N. Loop 336 west from 8 till noon on saturdays. Breezy Hill Sustainable Farm and a few select others will all also be in attendance.

We and a few others are going to be at Culver’s Conroe at 1426 west loop 336 west besides Culver’s in their parking lot from 8 to noon on Saturdays. I understand there will be fresh produce like the aquaponic lettuce and others . Please come see use.

Went to hives today about pulled some white comb to make some pints of honey with comb. I also sp lit 6 huge hives to double their number.

Got a big pallet of wood today from Mann lake. I am going to put these new 10 hives at my Morehead blueberry farm to bring that apiary to 19 . I need to pull the 15 med full supers perhaps Sunday

The small batch production continues. Blue berry, black berry, strawberry and cherry this weekend . Whole fruit preserves only. .

I just bought another apiary on 1314. The location is Morehead blueberry farm. There are 9 existing hives with room to double that number. It will be the first time I can truly produce a blueberry varietal. We will also sell at the 20 acre blueberry farm is season. I have a new partner Charles Stevens

The bees hives are getting stronger every day. Several on the 28 hives are double supers(that is where they store Their honey. ) I believe some will be 4 supers by the end of the summer.
I have had calls as far away as Plano to remove bees from structures. The last one that I pulled out of someone's property , I split into three hives.

We got a big load of plums to process to preserves to hold us for a while. All this rain has really been good for the Muscadine grapes. They are really plumping out. We planted 25 new figs trees in several variety. This will give us better crop this summer and will grow bigger every year. I have had many requests for Strawberry rhubarb. If I can get a good source we will make it. Any suggestions?
