Sweet Wisteria has been at the shelter since February - she is one of our longest residents. Sadly, she is a scared, black dog, and therefore, overlooked for too long. Wisteria needs a home where she is given the time and patience to come out if her shell. If you can help, please come by to adopt or foster Wisteria.*we cannot guarantee the behavior of animals*
🌟Jaxson, A405775, Neutered Male, 13 lbs, 5 months
Meet Jaxson! He is about five months old and seems like he has a bit of chihuahua or Italian greyhound in him, though we don’t know his breed for sure. Jaxson is such a happy, good natured pup. He is about 13 pounds right now, so estimators put him at about 30-40 pounds full grown. This sweet guy is a bit timid but clearly loves affection. He really shines around other animals and has been a friend to every pup and cat he has met. Jaxson is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations.
He is currently in a foster home so email [email protected] to schedule a meet and greet!
Meet Ellie! This sweet girl is 7 years old and has been at the shelter since June. She gets along with other dogs, rides well in the car, can sit and shake, does great in public, and is an all around awesome dog. I don’t know how she keeps getting overlooked! Ellie had so much fun on her doggie day out to the park, enjoyed a pup cup, and charmed everyone in petsmart. She would love to get out of the shelter permanently and find her forever family. (#A400482) Please come visit her at Montgomery County Animal Shelter on 242. Adoptions are open Tuesday-Sun from 11:30-5pm. She’ll be waiting for you! ❤️🐾
Looking for a fluffy companion, who is all happy smiles and tail wags all the time? Meet Cooper!
Cooper is around 2 years old, and 51 pounds. He’s a Great Pyrenees mix and doesn’t seem to mind cats and loves all humans. He is so sweet and lovable. He recently went on a hike with a few volunteers and shelter dogs and also went to Kirby ice house (a bar) afterwards. Cooper did great! Watch the video to learn more about this adoptable floof. We’d love for him to find a home soon!

Wagner had a nice day out with volunteers and shelter furry friends. He is calm and friendly. Wagner LOVES everybody.❣️ He wants to be your lap dog. He’s good with people and dogs. But prefers to have his meal in peace and separate from other dogs. We would love to find him a home that fits that description. Please come meet him! Olive (A394491) is one of our longest residents (since February 2024) and today she was able to step out of the shelter to go on a nice hike with some other shelter pups. Volunteer Alysa says, she is shy with people and a flight risk (she can jump fences no problem). She took extra precautions and double leashed her and clipped Olive to her. She really enjoyed the walk, was so relaxed, sniffing and exploring and even rolling around. She rode great in the car and took treats from her once she felt more comfortable. She loved being around other dogs and would thrive in a home with a confident dog to show her the ropes. She has great potential but needs a patient person who will take extra precautions that she doesn’t escape. Please give Olive a chance. Come see her at Montgomery County Animal Shelter in Conroe, Tx.
Senior Dog Sunday - Glory is still smiling.
Glory was first at the shelter in 2016 and now she finds herself back as a 10 year old senior dog. She is in a bit of rough shape. She walks slow and steady. However, volunteers and staff give her the best care. This senior dog should spend her last few years in a loving home and in a cozy bed. Please share. #pitbullawarenessmonth #seniorsunday

UPDATE! OUR GIRL HAS FOUND HER FOREVER HOME!
Look at her go! Calamity Jane had a tough time after reportedly getting stuck in a fence. Her right front paw was turned under and could not bear weight on it, likely due to nerve damage. Her leg has since been amputated. She is not fazed by it at all. Just look at her go!
She is such a lover and wants to be in your lap. She’s silly and super happy. Missing a leg doesn’t slow her down one bit!

UPDATE: ADOPTED
Let's get one of your long-term loves adopted this weekend! George will be hanging out on the Shelter's porch for a bit today (Saturday, October 5th). Come meet this sweet boy!
George A394437 has been at the shelter for over 250 days! He is one of our longest shelter says.
A few volunteers took him out for the day to give him a much needed break. He was easy to get out his kennel, patient when putting on a harness and leash, and sweet to everyone he saw on the way. He was hesitant to get in the car but once he was in, he was a smooth and calm passenger. On the hike, he got along with other shelter dogs and he does get along with his current kennel mate as well.
He’s listed at 3 years but has an old soul and was perfectly chill on the leash, although he did have a playful side to him as well. The volunteers walked George by the feral cat colony and he did show some reactivity. Although he hasn’t been tested indoors, he would probably do best in a cat-free home. George needs a forever home and we think he’d make a great family member! Please come meet him!!
