This sweet pup needs rescue help ASAP!

šŸ’™A409725, 1 Year Old, Male, 17lbs, Heartworm NegativešŸ’™

This brave pup arrived at the shelter after being hit by a car. His injuries are severe, and he urgently needs specialized care beyond what the shelter can provide. X-rays revealed a fractured pelvis with both acetabulums affected, bilateral sacroiliac luxation, and an inguinal hernia requiring corrective surgery. He has significant bruising in his pelvic area and struggles to move without pain.

Despite his injuries, this sweet boy is eating and drinking well and is currently receiving pain medication to keep him comfortable. His resilience is remarkable, but he needs the help of a rescue organization to fully heal and recover. We are seeking a rescue to take over his care and provide the life-saving treatment he needs. If your rescue can help, please reach out.

Mateo is a calm and gentle pup who is ready to find a home after waiting patiently for over 300 daysā€¼ He's shown excellent leash skills, knows "sit" and "shake," and has a kennelmate, which shows he can share his space with another dog. He's done well on foster field trips and was a pro during his photoshoot! Can't adopt? Then we hope you consider fostering (either short term or long term) to give him the experience of love and a home.

Foster Feature Friday: Larkyn is a 2 year old, female, Lab Mix. She has been in a foster home for 10 weeks now. She has been to multiple adoption events and several posts for exposure with no furever home, yet. Letā€™s continue to share her story!

This is what her foster mom has to say about Larkyn. She is a timid girl. Life has obviously not been nice to her. She does things on her own time and is hesitant to approach people.

BUT, she continues to make good progress. She now walks up and sniffs me. She will lay next to me on the couch with her head on my lap. And when I stop petting her, will nudge her head under my hand for more. She now takes treats from my hand. AND the 2 foster puppies I currently have, have helped her start to find her playful side-unfortunately, she just doesnt know her sizešŸ¤¦šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø

She loves to sit outside in the grass or on the deck and just take it all in. A friend has a theory she was possibly being trained as a hunting dog. She points, watches birds and stands incredibly still for LONG periods of time just sniffing the airšŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø

Larkyn is a sweet soul and a beautiful girl. She gets overlooked bcuz she is timid and cautious for affection. She would do great with other dogs around her size, to continue teaching her how to be a dog.

Harvey has been patiently waiting for a forever home for 317 daysā€¼ He is currently living it up in a foster home but is still looking for a permanent home. Here is what his foster has said about him:

ā€œHarvey has been fostered with us for 2 weeks now. He is such a good boy! He loves to play with our other dogs. Heā€™s a little afraid of the cat but hasnā€™t shown any aggression towards the cats or chickens. He did so well with the grandkids. They played outside together for hours. Heā€™s house trained and sits to wait for treats. Heā€™s going to make a great best friend for some lucky family!ā€

Meet young Bantha (A402989).

Bantha is a playful, happy, affectionate dog. Heā€™s got tons of personality and charm, and he loves spending time with people. Bantha loves to swim and he loves his treats. He has mastered the ā€œsitā€ command and proves to be food-motivated and very trainable.

Being a young dog (about 1.5 years old), Bantha has quite some energy that he needs to be able to release by being able to run around, through play, interacting with humans and other types of mental stimulation. Unfortunately, being one among 400 dogs at a shelter, Bantha doesnā€™t get nearly as much activity as he needs. He has exhibited some signs of frustration at the shelter and is unable to share his kennel with another dog.

Bantha would thrive in a home, with a family to call his own. Please consider giving Bantha a chance. Adopt of foster Bantha!

Cutie Alert! šŸšØšŸ„° Chumbwumba came out with a song in the late 90s and I can probably only understand about three lines of lyrics in this song and itā€™s a bit of an ear worm. What stands out the most in this song are the lyrics ā€œI get knocked down, but I get up again, and youā€™re never gonna keep me down.ā€ We fostered Farren this weekend and this song wiggled its way into my head as we got to know her. Sheā€™s listed as 3 years old and I suspect she has lived a thousand life times in those last 3 years.
Farren (A402752)went into foster care on Saturday, 1/11/25. Farren is a sweet girl that first needs to assess her surroundings and the command being given before she commits to any activity. She loved following our crew of 3 large dogs. She seemed to thrive when she got to run laps off leash with our dogs. She takes treats gently from our hands and our toddlerā€™s hands. Farren is very friendly and knows skills like finding her bed, or safe spot, when she felt nervous. She would find a human or one of our dogs if a loud noise spooked her. She has been exposed to all the loud, brash toys of a toddler and she did well. She either skittered to her safe spot or army crawled over to the intimidating thing and sniffed it out. Some ā€œintimidatingā€ things include hotwheels crashing on a race track, dinosaurs falling off tables, babydoll beds being tipped over, toddler crashing to the floor while playing games like tag or hide and seek.
Farren gently takes treats from our hands and was kind to our 2 year old. She never chewed on any of our kiddoā€™s toys and was delighted to play with a Kong toy. Sheā€™s comfortable on leash but she seems to light up while getting to run loose in our yard. She was delighted to chase a Frisbee, and snoop around the yard. Her overall demeanor is extremely sweet, but she is cautious about the world. It takes her a second to recognize good pets, but does lean into a pet or good scratch when she realizes itā€™s an affectionate touch. Our two year old easily fed her treats and played near and around her.
Farren was calm and easily kept her distance if she felt nervous about hotwheels crashing or legos hitting the floor. Farren was nervous about riding in the car, but she was calm and quiet while riding. She went to the groomer for a mani or pedi, not sure what to call it for dogs, but the groomer reported she was kind and easily allowed her to clip her nails. Farren explored the pet store and greeted other humans. She slept in a crate at night and didnā€™t make a peep. We didnā€™t hear her bark the entire weekend. She was nervous about putting a jacket on for this cold weather, but she allowed us to put it on and didnā€™t mess with the jacket. I hope this description highights her easy going personality and provides some insight about her cautious behavior, but she is thriving with kindness. She would probably thrive even more in a home with other dogs to show her the ropes.
I hope her future adopters are familiar with Chumbwumba and name her Dannie Girl šŸ˜‰ Farren has survived the streets as a stray and she's learning to be a dog without the stress of survival šŸ«¶

Herman got the chance to spend a little time outside the shelter this weekend. He visited a farmerā€™s market and a winery! Hereā€™s what Hermanā€™s foster for the day said about him. šŸ’œ

Hi I'm Herman! I'm the sweetest dog you could ask for. When the lady took me out for the day I didn't bark once! I'm potty trained and immediately just hopped in the backseat of her car and took a lay down until we got to the park. Oh and I didn't tug once on my leash during our walk. I like other dogs and love pats from new friends.

She also discovered that Herman is quite the cheese fan! šŸ˜ƒ

Please consider fostering or adopting this adorable senior boy!

A Weekend with Spalding (A402429): Here is what Barby had to say, ā€œIā€™d like to introduce you to Spalding. Iā€™ve taken him out to play several times and it was love at first sight. Heā€™s a big boy, 3 year-old German Shepherd /lab mix. He walks very well on my leash, especially considering his size. He knows sit and shake. He really loves treats and takes them gently. Heā€™s got a beautiful coat and loves to be brushed. He does shed a bit.
We went to the play yard before I took him home. He made a quick bark at each dog that passed as if to say hi. He does have a roommate. We walked past the cats. He showed some interest, but he listened to me to come away.
When we left to go home, Spalding hesitantly got in the car. Donā€™t think heā€™d been in one before. We stopped at Starbucks, but pup cup was of no interest. He did like looking out the car window. Once home, he checked out the yard. Like many boy dogs, he lifted his leg many times, but only a couple drops. Donā€™t think he knew he wasnā€™t really peeing. Once settled in, he now enjoyed his pup cup! He wanted to be where ever I was. When my husband came home, Spalding wasnā€™t too sure about him. As the weekend went on, they became friends. When he finds his people, heā€™s very loyal. He may need a family with older kids due to his size or time to figure it out. Cause of bad weather, we didnā€™t get out with kids or dogs.
Spalding slept on the floor in my room. If I was to leave him home alone, I might put him in the kennel just to see what worked best. No accidents of any kind while he was here.
This sweet boy is just looking for someone to love him. He was always by us and loved being petted, and he gives the best kisses. Spalding is calm, loving, gentle, loyal, and easy. Because heā€™s a big dog he usually doesnā€™t get to go to adoption events or on transports. Heā€™s counting on you to come take him home to join your family. He just needs time and love. Please come by and meet Spalding.ā€

Letā€™s find Kenobi a home. Kenobi is an energetic one-year old, who loves being able to get outside and play - something he doesnā€™t get to do often, living at a shelter. Here is what a volunteer had to say about him:

ā€œI recently met Kenobi (A403606) at the shelter. Kenobi seemed like an extremely energetic dog, who was quite eager to get out of his kennel (it had been 5 days since he was out last). He was pretty tough to get out and really strong on the leash. But then, I watched him run around, be super playful and happy in the yard. I realized, Kenobi is only about a year old, he has a ton of energy that he doesn't have a way to release. He's been at the shelter for over 4 months (since August). Kenobi really needs to be in a home where he can get plenty of exercise and mental stimulation.

I felt really sad putting Kenobi back in his kennel. He obviously just wants to run outside and play as much as he can. I hope the right family sees this and considers adopting or fostering Kenobi.ā€

Will you give Kenobi a chance? Visit the shelter to adopt or foster Kenobi!

This is one of the cutest photo of foster girl, Lotus and also a tricky photo. What body goes with what head?

Lotus came into the shelter on March 16th. On November 1st, she went into foster care but still waiting on her forever home. We would love for Lotus to be adopted before she reaches a year in the shelter system.

She is potty and kennel trained. Knows how to sit and lay down for sweet treats. Looks for all the snuggles from us and her sisters. She is learning to walk like a good girl on her leash with minimal pulling.

If you or someone you may know is looking for the perfect family dog sweet LoLo checks all the boxes. She has been around children of ALL ages and loves them. Please share. Itā€™s her turn to finally have her family.
