Five Dollar Friday brought in $70. We have a goal of $700. We are trying to make a difference for some very needy kennel workers for Christmas. Most of these women have children and as I posted in this post that I’m sharing, it is a poverty stricken area. We have adopted the shelter for Christmas and hopes that people would send dog food and cat food for the needy animals also, I would like to get to our goal by tomorrow in order to send everything no later than Tuesday. I personally have added $350 to the pot that puts us at $420 with a goal of 700. you can also help us by sharing this post.

$5 Friday is here and we need nothing, nada ,zip, zero!! BUT we have committed to helping another shelter for Christmas. I am begging you guys if you’re going to help anybody this year or if you were planning on helping us for Christmas, please consider sending some dog food to the Johnson Co Ky Animal Services from their wish list below if you would like to donate for five dollar Friday I will be putting it towards seven gift cards for the seven workers that work at the shelter right now I’m put $350 of my own money in there and I would like to double that. We’ve received $20 this week towards that goal, so if you would like to help out please feel free to do that. I would like to send that by Monday, so five dollar Friday will be open all weekend.

Last year you all adopted a family in need at Christmas. We all shared, donated and rallied. This Christmas I said let’s adopt a shelter and its employees from a poverty stricken area. As most of you know we take animals out or the SE Ky areas a few times a year and I meet some of the nicest people doing the best they can with what they have. The Johnson County Animal Services is no different. This weekend we traveled there to pick up a momma and her 10 pups and met some wonderful humans doing the best they can to care for the overwhelming amount of animals. Rescue Acres has been tremendously blessed this year and we are in need of nothing ( other than adoptions). We would love to provide a gift card ( Visa ) to each employee and food and supplies for the shelter. I am putting $350 in to start the gift card funding for the 7 employees.I’m hoping to double this and I’m posting their shelter wish list and I will keep a running total for you all to see. I would like to send the gift cards by Tuesday. Let’s make a difference again in the lives of animals and the people that care for them! Love to you all!

Well, today was Kimmie‘s surgery day and today we got great news that the infection is going away in her hip and her bones and that at this point Kimmie gets to keep her leg. I am so grateful to Parrett Veterinary Clinic and especially to Camrin Matthews for doing a fundraising effort which did help Kimmie get spayed and a much needed dental and extraction. We are so blessed to have a community behind us. I believe Dr. Fry was very surprised when I brought her in today and she could see a huge difference. It’s like this weekend has just completely changed her. THIS WAS THE BEST POSSIBLE OUTCOME!!

Last Christmas you all helped support a family who was in need. We bought their family Christmas and provided a little extra for them. This year I think we’re going to do something a little different. I think we are going to adopt a shelter for Christmas….OMG IM SO EXCITED TO DO THIS You all have blessed us so much this year that we will probably be able to get through February with all our supplies. I will give you more details mid week so keep an eye on this page. Also keep Kimmie in your thoughts as tomorrow she heads to Parrett veterinary clinic in Plymouth, Indiana for her amputation surgery.

It’s been a long day, but we are on our way home. We’ve got 19 passengers. We drove to Cincinnati last night then this morning drove to Staffordsville, Kentucky, and now we are headed back home after a stop in Florence to check on our horses

Poor Kimmie just can’t get a break. Last night when I was scooting her into her crate she let out a yelp and the previous sore on her hip had accessed again and broke open. Another trip to the vet today and they added an antibiotic and we hope for a miracle before Tuesday as that’s the day she will be evaluated again prior to amputation. The vet was very happy about seeing her using her leg more. One of the vet techs from the vet clinic has offered to do a fundraiser to help pay for Kimmie’s surgery. I will be sharing that as soon as she gets the post made. Right now I’m just asking everybody to send a lot of positive vibes and prayers for her.

Well it’s never a good way to end the week. Send good vibes to my husband so hopefully he gets me back on the road quickly.

First of all let me thank all of you for all you have done for these animals. We reached our goal yesterday. Five animals are getting spayed and neutered today which is a huge bonus. Our page has grown tremendously the last couple of months to almost 2000 followers which is amazing. This journey cannot be done without your support and everything has been because of all of you. From the bottom of my heart I thank you and I thank you for helping me support these animals.
