So sorry, guys! This is a little late, but we will be closed today, July 4th, and honor of our Independence Day. Lord, we ask that You bestow your blessings on this country, the USA, still the greatest country in the world!

PSA from your friends at Bluebonnet:

Dear friends, it looks like we're in for some severe weather, so please take care of the pets. Bring them inside, even if it's the garage and put a fan out there with them, but get them out of the weather. Most pets are afraid of thunder and will bolt when scared enough. Think of how you'd feel out in a storm with no shelter. So please, take care of yourselves, your kids and your pets. Thank you! ❤

Reposted from K9 Country Kennels.

Dear Mom and Dad,
Let me stay home. It's not nice for me to walk and run next to you. But because I am a loyal dog, I often go beyond my limits. So I walk and run beside you, standing still if I have to. All while I feel my paws burning.

Even as little as 5 minutes can be fatal to me and to my paws. I sweat through my paws, and in the heat I just can not get rid of the sweat. My whole body starts boiling, but I’ll keep going because I am as loyal as loyal comes. When you look at me panting and moving around you think I’m excited to be out here walking or running with you and I am, I promise you I am, but it’s more that I can’t cool off and my feet are in severe pain. My paws are literally cooking.

By the time we have gotten home my paws have been burning the entire duration we were out, my tongue is dry and my head is pounding in the heat that my body cannot get rid of.

You know when you ask if I want to go for a walk or a run I will instantly jump up and want to go because I love you so much and I love these activities but I also don’t know what awaits me. I depend on you to know what’s in my best interest. So instead, let me stay at home where I can enjoy the sun, with a large bowl of water, somewhere in the shade. A cool area with grass would be best.

With all the love I have in the whole world - I give it all to you - Love your dog 🩷🐾Dear Mom and Dad,

Icy road conditions are being predicted for Monday morning. For our employees safety, as well as our clients, we will be closed. If conditions improve, we may open in the afternoon. Please call before coming out. Stay safe and stay warm.

01/13/2024

To our Bluebonnet friends and family. Please remember the three P's! And the 1st one is:
1) Your PETS. Bring them inside or provide insulated shelter. Would you want to be left out in the cold, in freezing temperatures with nothing to block the wind or keep the rain off your head? Renember that they don't either.
2) Your plants. Bring them in or cover them.
3) Your pipes. Wrap them. I use pool noodles for the one I can get to. Leave your faucets dripping.
Please stay safe and warm during this cold snap and make sure your pets do, as well. While all animals are susceptible to these cold temps; reptiles can be especially at risk. Check your tanks heating and lighting systems.

01/01/2024

Wishing you all a happy, safe and prosperous New Year! And if you haven't already, please bring your pets inside and lock them in an inside room with no windows and turn up the radio or the TV to drown out the fireworks. Keep your baby safe!

Prayer is powerful, our friends!!! Thank you all for yours! Our boy, Tiptoe, just came home. Thank you, Lord Jesus!!! Royce just found him walking up to the bay area in the "back 40" as I call it. He scooped him up and brought him inside. We have no earthly idea where he's been for the past 4 days, he does stink to high heaven, but we've been loving and kissing on him anyway. You have never seen a happier or more grateful group of people!

It's alright to grieve. The pet you lost was a member of your family. Don't be ashamed of your tears or anguish, but don't stay in that place. Your babies would not want you to stay sad, they want you you to live on, they want your heart to heal. They want your heart to be open to perhaps love another baby that needs you. They want you to know they will always be in your heart. ❤

This is what grief is.
A hole ripped through the very fabric of your being.
The hole eventually heals along the jagged edges that remain. It may even shrink in size.
But that hole will always be there.
A piece of you always missing.
For where there is deep grief, there was great love.
Don’t be ashamed of your grief.
Don’t judge it.
Don’t suppress it.
Don’t rush it.
Rather, acknowledge it.
Lean into it.
Listen to it.
Feel it.
Sit with it.
Sit with the pain. And remember the love.
This is where the healing will begin.

Hoping everyone is having a great Sunday and enjoying the much cooler temperatures! A little windy today, but I'll take it! Give your furred/feathered/scaled babies some hugs and kisses! ❤

Thank you again, everyone, for your thoughts and prayers concerning Odie aka Dreamsicle. We've had no word, so we have to assume that he is gone. We keep praying that he's found a loving home and that's why he's not come to us, but I guess we'll never know for sure. We miss you, Odie! We will always love you and keep you in our hearts. ❤

09/17/2023

We wanted to thank all of you who have commented about Odie and have shared our post. Still no word as to what happened. We keep calling for him and he doesn't respond, but we keep hoping and praying. We will keep you updated. Thank you all again! ️❤️

REWARD OFFERED IF FOUND!

If any of y'all live in the Converse area, we're missing one of our little office kitties. His name is Odie, aka Dreamsicle. He's neutered, very friendly, loves being petted to the point of being annoying! LOL But don't try to pick him up, he usually won't let you. We miss him terribly and if anybody's seen him, even if you saw his body, we just need to know what happened to our boy. We would like his body back to cremate and spread his ashes under his favorite bush. We love and miss him!

5 Summer Safety Tips: Please help to keep your pets safe from this Texas heat.

1) - Make sure there's plenty of water available for your furry friends.

2) - Never leave your dog (or any pet) alone in a car – even with the windows open.

3) - Avoid exercising your dog during the heat of the day. If it's very warm or if your dog struggles in the heat, avoid taking them for a walk altogether.

4) - Your pets need plenty of shade and may benefit from being brought indoors in the hot weather.

5) - If it's too hot for your feet to walk on pavement then it's too hot for theirs.

Stay safe out there everyone and keep your pets indoors!

Best wishes, from Bluebonnet Staff.
