WHY THIS LONGEVITY HERB IS A MUST ADD TO YOUR DOG’S DIET! 🐶🍠
Cancer is considered the leading cause of sickness and death in dogs. In fact, when it comes to the golden retriever, one study found that 68.3% of golden retrievers were diagnosed with some form of cancer and 65.0% of golden retrievers had a death attributable to cancer. According to the National Cancer Institute, approximately 6 million new cancer diagnoses are made in dogs each year. “Since not all pets receive medical care or a definitive cancer diagnosis, this number likely would rise if every pet saw a veterinarian annually.” 📈- AAHA
One of the world's most extensively researched and promising natural compounds for cancer treatment is a medicinal herb that so desperately needs to be incorporated into our pets’ lives. 🌿 That herb is turmeric root. Turmeric has been used for thousands of years not only as a spice but also as a medicinal herb, and now science is beginning to understand why. 👩🏼🔬 Its medicinal properties and components (primarily curcumin) have been the subject of over 5600 peer-reviewed and published biomedical studies, and has been shown to have anti-aging properties.
Over the years, curcumin has been studied as a potential tool to both reduce as well as possibly treat, different forms of cancer.🦠 Various studies have found that curcumin can help kill tumor cells, as well as inhibit tumor growth in test tube and animal studies. With the ability to selectively target cancer stem cells, curcumin plays a significant role in suppressing the metastasis of cancer cells.
In addition, curcumin has also been shown to help boost the levels of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and improve cognition by making omega-3 DHA, more available in the brain.🧠 This means that in addition to improving memory, and maybe even delaying memory loss, curcumin-boosted BDNF could be effective in delaying or even halting age-related neurodegenerative diseases.
More recent research has discovered curcumin may also protect the body from oxidative stress and damage caused by advanced glycation end products (AGEs). Studies show that cooking some foods at high heat results in the formation of more than ten to hundred times of new AGEs in foods. Processed canned and kibble dog food may contain significantly high levels of these AGEs. Animal and human studies show dietary AGEs result in increased oxidative stress, inflammation, and potentially organ damage, with more than half of absorbed AGEs bound in the liver and kidney. Accumulation of AGEs in the body over time may be a significant contributor of aging. Curcumin has been shown to not only protect the body from AGE’s damage but may also inhibit the formation of AGEs in the body.
👉 Our suggested dose for dogs: 50 to 250 mg two times a day, this is roughly 2 mg per pound of body weight twice a day. *Based on curcumin's naturally low bioavailability, source a product that has been formulated for increased absorption.
As with people, the longest lived dogs often have healthy dietary habits in common. In the Herbs for Health section of our new book, The Forever Dog, turmeric is one of the many herbs we recommend sharing with your dog. We also explain how to incorporate herbs into your dog’s meals, along with how much to feed. 🐾 Get your copy now: foreverdogextras.com/pet-longevity

Humane Society CEO makes $400,000
Monday, September 14, 2020
(Editors' Note: the following is being reprinted from humanewatch.org)
There are two kinds of problem solvers: Those who actually want to solve the problem, and those who simply want to make money on the existence of the problem–without actually solving the problem. Unfortunately, some charities fall into the latter camp, where they essentially become fundraising operations. That’s where you can find the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), a national group that is not affiliated with local humane societies.
Despite running ads with needy dogs and cats, the most well-fed beneficiaries of the $100+ million HSUS raises each year appears to be its own executives.
CEO Kitty Block made over $400,000 last year, according to HSUS’s Form 990 tax return for 2019. In total, 70 employees made over $100,000 a year, including:
G. Thomas Waite III, Treasurer and CFO: $293,786
John Vranas, Chief Development Officer: $301,957
Katherine Karl, General Counsel: $276,577
Rebecca Branzell, Deputy General Counsel: $218,282
Jill Little, Senior Vice President: $217,971
Michaelen Barsness, Controller: $196,177
HSUS has also stashed tens of millions in offshore accounts. While HSUS had about $30 million in Caribbean funds at the end of 2018, it’s now even higher. HSUS reported having $41.6 million in the Caribbean, with another $6.3 million in Europe at the end of last year.
All told, almost 50 percent of HSUS’s budget went to fundraising-related expenses. This will surely result in HSUS retaining its poor “D” grade from CharityWatch, an independent charity evaluator that grades nonprofits on how well they spend donations.
You don’t need to be a math person to appreciate what the numbers are saying: Animals aren’t the top priority at the Humane Society of the United States. And judging from Glassdoor reviews, rank-and-file staff don’t seem to be too high on the list, either.
If you want to help animals, take your money somewhere else. Go to our sister project at www.HelpPetShelters.com for a way to ensure that 95 percent of your donation goes to a vetted pet shelter.

Do your pets have achy joints? Check out this awesome testimony from Anita C in another group!
“Copaiba is probably one of the most overlooked oils in the Premium Starter Kit. Did you know it’s great for muscular aches and pains? It really helps support the muscles and bones and it’s incredible for inflammation!
Did you also know you can use many of the oils with your pets? My senior chihuahua gets one drop of Copaiba on her treat every night. She has horrible muscle and joint issues with her hip and knee and this works amazing for her. Keeps her comfortable and running around like a puppy. It’s like night and day if I forget more than a day or two of this. ❤️❤️”

HAVE YOU EVER SEEN A DOG WITH A YELLOW RIBBON TIED TO THEIR COLLAR?
If you see a dog with a yellow ribbon tied to their collar, do not approach it, pet or otherwise bother them in any way. While it's a good idea to take this stance with any dog you're not familiar with, The Yellow Dog Project is a global movement trying to popularize the use of yellow ribbons as a way to educate and alert people about dogs who need their space. Yellow Dogs are not necessarily aggressive or dangerous, but might have issues with fear or be in pain due to recent surgery. If approached, such a dog could snap, growl or become anxious and stressed, which is what the yellow ribbon is intended to prevent.
The Yellow Dog Project was founded in 2013 to support dogs who are anxious and may display reactive behaviors if approached. The color yellow was chosen for ribbons because it's widely understood as a cautionary color. In addition to dogs who may be fearful or in pain, dogs wearing yellow ribbons may be rescue or shelter dogs who have behavioral problems they haven't yet overcome. They may also be dogs in training to be work or service dogs.

Who has been using a lot of lavender lately? Here's a 2017 article from The Mental Health Clinician that discusses how lavender can help produce a calming effect without causing sedation. It also didn't facilitate dependence or withdrawal issues. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6007527/

The CDC recommends that the hand sanitizer that you use that is effective at killing that virus everyone’s buying toilet paper for right now must have 60% alcohol or more.
GUESS WHAT?!?
A lot of conventional, toxic, over the counter hand sanitizers don’t have that much..but thieves?!?
65%
Wanna learn a little more?!
🌿Thieves Waterless Hand Purifier ingredients include👇:
➕65% Alcohol denat
➕Water
➕Aloe
➕Glycerin
➕Peppermint oil
➕Thieves Oil
👉BUT WAIT!!!!👈 Isn't Alcohol Denat toxic and NOT good for our skin? So WHY IN THE WORLD is it in YL's plant based hand purifier?????!🤔
Check this:
Denat alcohol is an ethanol based product, which is derived from petroleum. Did ya know petroleum is toxic!? Almost all other companies use a petroleum base of some sort in their products which is not natural and toxic to our bodies. In Young Living's case, the "alcohol denat" is actually derived from the Peppermint oil (and from the thieves oil too!)Saaay what, and how do they do that???
Because of our Seed to Seal standard we can trust that each of our oils are chemically sound meaning each has all the perfect chemical compounds and bonds needed for it to be 100% pure as it was within the plant.
This is why YL oils can be used to create a safe and natural solution (like alcohol denat) instead of a man made toxic alcohol denat with fake chemical bonds that our bodies don't like. Even when formulated naturally (like YL does) per fda we have to list the chemical structure for what it is chemically called, natural or not.
Peppermint oil has natural methyl / ethyl bonds, and can TOTALLY be used as a natural Alcohol Denat.
At YL, plants are used to create natural and safe chemical solutions that aren't concoctions of fake petroleum derivatives.
All YL products are chemically created this way!
So if our hand sanitizer is out of stock, grab the thieves spray, or thieves wipes and those will do the job!
Can I getta AMEN🙌?
We use our oils to formulate plant based chemistry! YL scientists at YL are seriously some of the best in the world!
Amazing facts from my friend Ashley Mclaughlin
Also, if you are DIYing and don’t have alcohol, remember the power of Thieves. I have a few posts in this group already about which oils have been recommended. The CDC doesn’t believe in essential oils, so they focus on the alcohol content. Research the essential oil power 😉
