Cats are amazing survivors but sometimes they need a little helping hand, especially when the temperatures drop so low. Directions for DIY kitty shelters are easily found online and you can utilize materials you already have to help outside kitties find a place to stay warm and dry. Here are a few more tips to help them endure this arctic blast:

Amber came to the VAC through the Cat Distribution System sometime in January of 2016. While we may not remember the exact timing of her glorious arrival, she has definitely made her presence known every day since. Amber keeps us all on our toes as we continue to come up with new and inventive ways to keep the food (any food....) safe from her nimble claws.

It is getting cold out there! Every pet is different, and we should definitely watch for signs of hypothermia and act accordingly. Some signs your pet might be too cold include shivering, cold ears, curling up and moving slowly, barking or whining and searching for a new spot to stay out of the wind. If you're cold, they probably are, too! 🥶

Fun Fact!! Jordan has been helping take care of fur babies at Vilonia Animal Clinic since 2018 and she is always smiling and ready to help where she can. This year, Jordan and her husband traveled to Colorado to get married and they brought their dog Tae along to act as the official ring bearer and sign the marriage license with her paw print. ❤️ Jordan loves to go hunting with her husband, spend time outside with their five dogs and she loves the color turquoise which just happens to be her birthstone. Happy Happy Birthday Jordan! We love you!
