Scrolling through my pictures and realized I never posted this cool story!
This horse had stepped on a nail a couple months earlier. When the owner took the horse to the vet, she found out that thankfully the nail didn't puncture any important structures but the inflammation it caused in the foot around his flexor tendon wasn't allow him the bend his foot to stand flat. He was 3 legged lame and was walking on his toe of this hind leg.
Vet recommended a 9 degree wedge and decreasing it 3 degrees every 4 weeks until no wedge was needed.
After placing the first shoe with a 9 degree wedge, the horse walked off sound!!
We continued to remove a wedge each 4 weeks of shoeing until he no longer needed a wedge to be sound.
I love being able to help horses! It's truly an amazing feeling see a lame horse walk off sound! So grateful I was able to fix this guy up!❤️
