Harris Gun Dogs of Tennessee - GSP At Harris Gun Dogs of TN, we breed and train exceptional German Shorthaired Pointers (GSPs).

Our focus is on breeding calmer-tempered GSPs that excel in hunting, tracking, and service work. When our family was first introduced to the breed, we instantly fell in love. GSP's temperament, work drive, and intelligence make them perfect for active families. Whether you're a serious hunter or avid adventurer, a GSP is a great choice. GSPs must have mental and physical stimulation, they can live

in an apartment but you must provide them an outlet or they will entertain themselves. All of our puppies will be AKC registered, tails docked, dew claws removed, dewormed, and have first round of shots. They will be socialized around children of all ages, introduced to water, nail trimming, and birds. We believe a dog that can perform in the field and come home to be a part of your family is the perfect dog, and what our breeding strives to create.

This is a cool side of training, and a different side of our dogs that not many get to experience. This is Beckett, a puppy from our last litter, who was selected to become a Certified Autism Service Dog. This may look like silly fun, but it’s actually the first steps to an important technique of Hold and Cover. Beckett will be able to provide targeted pressure therapy to certain areas of the body to help calm a child in emotional distress. As her training progresses, she will be able to assess the severity of the episode and apply the same targeted therapy to a moving target. Beckett has a long year and a half left to go with her training but has made so much progress already.

We are heart broken to announce the loss of our sweet Chevy. Our family is devastated but find comfort knowing she isn’t suffering anymore. We know she walked through heavens gates, tail wagging, and ball in her mouth. Three months shy of 15 years on earth wasn’t long enough. She was a true angel and brought a level of happiness that could never be measured. We’ll love you always, and hope God throws your ball with you till we get there. Chevy ❤️
