🌡️Do you know how hot is 🔥TOO HOT🔥 for pets?

🥵Heat is an underestimated but deadly threat to pet safety. When pets can’t effectively cool themselves by panting, they experience heatstroke, a veterinary emergency that causes rapid internal injury and death.

🥵While all pets are susceptible to heat stroke, young, old, and brachycephalic (flat-faced) pets are especially vulnerable.

🥵Protect your pet by limiting their outdoor time during hot weather, providing an endless supply of fresh water, rescheduling walks and activities for the cooler parts of the day, and never leaving your pet unattended in a parked vehicle—even with the windows down.

🥵Don’t play games with the summer heat. If your pet appears distressed, immediately take them to a cooler area and contact the nearest veterinary facility for instructions.

Fireworks and other loud, sudden, or unfamiliar noises can send pets into an emotional tailspin.
Keep your pet safe and minimize noise-related anxiety by:

*Exercising your pet in the late afternoon

*Confining your pet to an interior room where they can safely hide

*Muffling sounds with white noise or soothing music

*Using calming pet pheromone sprays or collars

*Distracting your pet with naturally soothing activities—fill a puzzle toy or lick mat with pet-safe high-value food (e.g., peanut butter, plain yogurt, cheese spread, tuna)

*Asking your vet about anti-anxiety medication or supplements

Fireworks may never be fun for pets, but effective preparation can make them less stressful.

We are thrilled to introduce Olivia, our new summer veterinary student intern! 🎉
Olivia is a 2nd year vet student at Lincoln Memorial University. She has a special interest in small animal emergency medicine and surgery. 🐶🩺

She has two adorable pups: Wrangler, a 1-year-old collie mix, and Tully, a 1-year-old clumber spaniel. When she's not working, Olivia loves spending time outdoors, whether it's hiking with her dogs, playing volleyball, or relaxing at the beach. 🐾🌳🏐🏖️

A fun fact about Olivia: she’s an avid volleyball player and has been playing since she was 12 years old! 🏐
