An invasive species of flatworm that has moved to America through landscaping materials. These worms are toxic. They carry tetrodotoxin, a toxin found only in puffer fish. Touching one of these bare handed can cause skin irritation and if you get it in your eyes or ingest it, it could kill you or your pet. Hammerheads have no natural predators and can not be killed by squishing or cutting in to pieces. Each fragment of the worm can regenerate into a new worm in only 10 days. If you find one you should bag it with salt and vinegar. Then, freeze for no less than 2 days. These worms can respawn shortly after freezing.

Yellow spotted millipede:
Millipedes can be beneficial to your terrarium. As they help to decompose organic matter and can enhance soil health. Millipedes protect themselves when threatened with a sq**rt of hydrogen cyanide. If you pick one up you’ll immediately notice this bitter, almond-like smell on your fingers, and you’ll probably put it back down rather quickly. It’s not poisonous to large animals, but for smaller critters it can be toxic. Although hydrogen cyanide is exceedingly toxic, the small amount each millipede produces is not hazardous to human health.

WHY SHOULD YOU GET ONE
Vivariums can be very therapeutic. With a little imagination, you can take yourself to a vista in nature that can be very calming.
Because they're bioactive they are low maintenance with little to no cleaning.
Sometimes the atmosphere in our homes don't have high enough humidity for certain plants such as moss, creeping fig, or selaginella. The sealed atmosphere inside the tank makes it easier to keep plants like these alive and thriving.
Vivariums mimic many different environments such as a rain forest, desert, or riverbank.
Do you live in an urban area? Do you have a busy schedule? No space for gardening? Some people just want a little piece of nature in your home. Maybe a vivarium is just the thing for you for you!

There are 4 types of Vivariums
1. A riparium is a planted tank that also consists of both water and land. The aesthetic goal of a riparium is to mimic a shoreline or riverbank. Think of this vivarium as more of an aquarium with a portion of its plants and hardscape above water.
2. Terrariums are miniature gardens housed inside small sealable glass containers. As fully functioning plant ecosystems, there mostly self-sustaining. The plants water themselves through transpiration and condensation.
3. An aquarium is a vivarium of any size, having at least one transparent side in which aquatic plants and animals are kept.
4. A palidarium is a lot like a riparium. Both are aquatic and terrestrial. However, where a riparium has limited landmass and usually cannot support life that depends on terrestrial amenities, a palidarium has enough landmass to provide a habitable living space for semi- aquatic animals.

All of which are bioactive. A bioactive vivarium is a vivarium for housing one or more terrestrial animal species that includes live plants and populations of small invertebrates and microorganisms to consume and break down the waste products of the primary species. In a functional bioactive vivarium, the waste products will be broken down. Reducing or eliminating the need for cage cleaning.
