Subject Line: Eve in disbelief.
I know they were going to be good, but seriously?! I know this isn’t that mind blowing but
1. She’s never seen this object or been asked to isolate her front feet on something.
2. The fact that this puppy already has such a CER to the clicker after less than 3 sessions.
10/10 this puppy is 🤯
These dogs are living for all this grass to find bones in!

Loretta honoring her puppy Decker on his first point ever!
Decker is 7 months old and out of the Loretta and Major litter from this spring.
Huckleberry goes home tomorrow. We went on our last feild trip to Williams today for some obedience proofing with his sister Tikka.
Very proud of my baby dog, Granger(LorettaxBoot) making an 18’ jump at his first competition day ever today. Looking forward to tomorrow!
Let’s talk about socialization and giving our puppies good responses and recovery to life events.
-
Socialization is usually planned but also should be opportunistic. Today, my neighbors across the street are having a new roof put on their house and an ac unit installed. We have been hearing noises from inside the house and out in the yard all morning but not up close. So for lunch I brought Stevie out front on our porch and she got to hear and see all the construction noise, the men and the trucks moving around. This could have been a very overwhelming situation for an undersocailized and underhandled puppy. It is also very important not to flood our puppies with new experience. Too much of a “good thing” can have just as many negative effects as not doing anything at all. Socialization is a very hard balance. But Stevie went out, didn’t pay any mind to the sights or sounds and happily snuffled away. That is all the proof in the world of a solid puppy who has an awesome future ahead of her. But that didn’t start when I got her, it started with her breeder.

Socialization really boils down to our dogs response to small daily stressors. Studies have shown stress response recovery starts at day zero. Before a puppy is even born. A stressed mom creates puppies that are more prone to fear responses. A stressed litter creates puppies that are hard to socialize properly. Every little step we take as breeders from conception to your home make a difference in how that dog will handle living in its own skin for the rest of its life. So although, our personal socialization we do with our puppies from 8-13 weeks is very important it really comes down to the genetic make up of our dogs.
Okay, this dog is insane and I love her. Look at the way she body slams the bumper. 😂😂😂

We competed in #AirRetrieve for the first time today after only practicing once time at 10/11 feet. We got to 15'! She was super tired at the end because we started at 10' and you can only increase increments of 2'. But she definitely has the ability to jump way further. Looking forward to doing it again in a few weeks. 😍
Momma Loretta is ready for our first post quarantine competition at the end of this month! It’s taken a bit of practice but she is finally getting what air retrieve is all about!
