Foster Equine Boarding & Rescue is a small veteran owned 501(c)(3) non-profit animal welfare organization. We are currently operating out of Coolville, Ohio. We are committed to saving horses from abuse, neglect, and slaughter. Our mission is RESCUE, LOVE, REHABILITATE, and REHOME. In addition to our Rescue we also offer lessons for all levels of riding. Ghost will be going up for adoption!!

He is a 22 year old Leopard Appaloosa. He’s broke to ride, but other than yesterday hadn’t been ridden in about 9 years. Hayden got right on there and he remembers what to do!

He has been diagnosed with heaves, but we started him on Respifree and even after being ridden around for a few he was not breathing hard!

He stands quiet for the farrier, likes human contact, and is all around a very good (and pretty) boy!

He will be wormed and vet checked before going to his new home!

Our farrier Andrew Nelson visited the farm yesterday and did feet for us.

The leopard appy, Ghost, stood very well and his feet look amazing!

Surrendered buckskin Buster did really well with only a few minor moments of ACKKKK.

Blackjack, our little mini stud, stood well with sedation.

Comanche, our surrendered paint Tennessee walker, was shall we say, a challenge?! He took a lot of sedation, and a lot of attention, but Andrew is a miracle worker and got him done.

I’ll admit, Comanche has my heart. He’s unhandled but not mean. I hope that we find someone who will take the time to love him and I think they’ll have themselves a heckuva horse!

Good morning!!! I’d like to introduce our newest owner surrender!

This beautiful boy is Ghost. He’s a 22 year old Leopard Appaloosa. He is broke to ride, but has not been ridden in 9 years or so, so we are going to get him checked over and see what he remembers!

Ghost does have heaves, but we have started him on Respi free which we have had great luck with in the past.

Once he is vetted, we will be working with ghost on riding and he will be up for adoption!

Foster Equine would like to give welcome to our two newest surrenders Comanche and Buster!

We received a call from the Humane officer at Washington County Sheriff's Office - Marietta, Ohio requesting we bring these two surrenders to the farm.

Comanche (the paint) is (we think) around 18-20 years old and desperately needs his feet done. He’s a little shy and scared, but he is settling in well and eating like a machine!!

Buster (the buckskin) is somewhere in the 26 years old range. He is severely underweight. We are waiting on testing to see what has caused the weight loss. We don’t know if it is age, teeth, or something else.

We are currently helping these two settle in and getting them up to date on vetting and farrier work. Both boys are beautiful!

PHOENIX AND BEAUTY ARE AVAILABLE!!!

Currently available for adoption are Phoenix (no halter) and Beauty (with halter)!

Phoenix is an 8 year old mini mare! She is up to date on all vetting and farrier work and ready to begin her new life! She has a wonderful personality and is super friendly!

Beauty is a 15 year old mini mare. She has tracheal issues and surgery is recommended for her to thrive!

Comet is settling in nicely at his new home! It fills us with so much joy when we can share a success story!!

It’s raining MINIS!!!!!!!!!

In conjunction with the Washington County Sheriff's Office - Marietta, Ohio, BLACK JACK has come to Foster Equines farm.

Black jack is a mini stud who is approximately 9-12 years old (we will confirm with Dr. Groah tomorrow when he comes to check him over).

As you can see, he’s got some farrier work ahead of him.

He’s a sweet little man and is enjoying his time in the field with that good grass! We will know more about his body condition and overall health once Dr Groah comes by tomorrow!

Shew. You guys! This is A LOT of small horses all at once!
