There is no better time for change than the fall season🍂.

So after lots of thinking (and crying 😭), I have decided that less stress, more time for loved ones and self-care, and more overall stability outweighs my desire to be a business owner.

At the end of this year I am hanging up my professional pet dog trainer hat.

I will no longer be taking pet dog clients and Dogs Decoded will not longer be a training business. It’s a very bitter sweet decision that feels a bit sad, but also very freeing. It is just time to move on to other adventures professionally and get back to having fun with my dogs and training for the pure love and joy of it.

If you are a previous client, I will still make myself available to help, so feel free to reach out! And I want to thank all of my clients for allowing me to help you reach your goals and build a closer relationship with your dog. It was a fun and always interesting and wild ride!

I will still very much be a part of the dog world, focusing on training my dogs, getting clubs going, coaching and maybe work on some educational/teaching side projects with my homies.

And maybe I will feel cute and get a puppy or two 🥰.

We’ll see… 😉

What a great week at conference! It is so fulfilling to be around other animal and science nerds all day! So many great conversations, debates and discoveries. And it was so great to see old friends and watch them present.

Also - After 3 intense days of class and testing, I am now officially LIMA certified! Woot!

ASH 🐶

Ash has joined our puppy daycare to work on socialization and being a bit calmer all around. He is a social butterfly and wants everyone to be his friend, but can get himself too excited. In a traditional daycare setting he literally plays all day. While that is very cute it is not healthy for puppies to go all day long with no down time.

Cooper is here for 2 weeks of our Day Training Program to work on leash walking, some reactivity and learning the give and take of polite social skills.

I will see everyone tomorrow at 11am. Hopefully there will be plenty of space for us.

When you arrive please leave your dog in the car and get set up with gear first. Give yourself plenty of space from other dogs in the class and be aware there are often many dogs at the park.

Please bring:
- Food or treats and a good treat bag - If you would like to purchase one let me know below and I can bring them.
- Water
- A cot if you have one.
- Training leash/collar and any safety equipment.

Santo is attending our Day Training Program to get a jumpstart on his leash manners and work through some pretty deep fear stuff. He has developed some coping skills that he thinks are keeping him safe while keeping others away. We are going to help him work on that self-confidence and be a polite citizen, even when he is a bit uncomfortable.

GRADUATION 🎓

Chico wrapped up his Private Lesson Program last week. He was such a trooper while we figured out the best route to take in his program to accommodate his deafness. We got him on a remote collar so he can get out and spend the summer hiking and exploring the woods with is Dad. Well done Guys!
