Let us introduce you to Wanda! 👋
Wanda came to Animal Humane Society in early December. She was one of 41 animals rescued from inhumane living conditions as part of a humane investigation case. Today, she is safe, loved, and ready to start her next chapter. 🐾

This sweet 1-year-old French Bulldog mix loves being close to people, soaking up snuggles, and showing off her goofy side. Wanda would thrive in a calm home where she can feel cozy, secure, and comfortable.

Wanda is ready to find a family to call her own. 💕 Could that be yours? Come meet her at our Golden Valley adoption center.

Happy Tails! 🐾 We love hearing your adoption stories. Zoe shares:

"My boyfriend and I adopted Myers back in November 2025. Myers has been loving his new life. He loves soaking up all the snuggles with mom! He LOVES cuddling with his mom, loves going for walks, and we recently found out he LOVES snow! Myers was truly what we needed in our lives. He has adjusted so well at home, and we can’t imagine life without him!"

Echo was one of 32 cats found living in a derelict van in a hospital parking lot. It was clear they'd been surviving in inhumane conditions — they were malnourished, frightened, and several had visible wounds. Echo's condition was the most shocking of the group: One of his eyes was completely black and so enlarged it was on the verge of popping out of its socket.

Our dedicated veterinary team first treated sweet Echo's pain, then they scheduled him for urgent enucleation surgery. In the lead-up to his procedure, he came to trust our team and even warmed up to pets and handling. And once the swollen eye was successfully removed, he quickly proved to be a bright, friendly cat.

It's hard to believe an animal who had experienced so much hardship and pain could still be so sweet and trusting, but Echo is yet another example of the power of hope — and hope begins with you. Right now all donations to AHS will be DOUBLED up to $35,000, but only until midnight tonight!

Don't miss your chance to provide 2X the hope to dogs, cats, and critters at Animal Humane Society! We count on the generosity of our community to show up for animals in need.

We’re counting down the final hours of 2025, as well as your opportunity to change twice as many lives at Animal Humane Society! Because while healing happens here, hope begins with you. And there's still time to give 2X the hope to animals in need.

Thanks to newly added match funds. Your donation to AHS will now be doubled, dollar-for-dollar, thanks to a group of generous animal lovers, but only through Wednesday, December 31. Double your gift at ahs.mn/give.

My name is Ghost. I’m a 2-year-old pitbull mix. I used to live with my person, but one day they left me alone at our house. I waited for them for a long time. I was hungry and lonely, but I waited. I waited so long that I started to get sick.

Then a stranger showed up — I was scared, but they were nice to me, and they said they would bring me to a place where I’d be safe and taken care of. I wasn’t sure where I was going, but I knew there wasn’t anything left for me at my old home.

That’s how I got to Animal Humane Society. There were lots of people and animals there, and it was a little overwhelming. At first I didn’t feel much like eating, but the people there were so gentle and patient with me, and the food was pretty good. They even gave me treats! Turns out I love hot dogs.

Once I began to feel better, I started going on walks and playing with toys. I always got tired in the afternoons, but they let me sleep as much as I wanted. Pretty soon I started getting visitors, and then I met a person who wanted to take me home!

Going through so many changes was hard for a pup like me, but I never gave up hope thanks to AHS — and to you. Thank you for helping me find my new home, where I can be with people who love me as much as I love them.

You can help even more dogs like me thanks to newly added match funds. Your donation to AHS will now be doubled, dollar-for-dollar, thanks to a group of generous animal lovers, but only through Wednesday, December 31. Double your gift at ahs.mn/give.

🐾 Happy Tails! Are you ready to have love find you when you least expect it? That’s what happened for Amy and their family!

“We met Zara on a cold Sunday afternoon. We were not looking to adopt, but she found my daughter, and we fell in love with her. She’s the sweetest, most loving senior cat, and we are so happy she’s a part of our family. She’s already brought us immense joy in the one day she’s been here. :-) Thank you, Animal Humane Society, for all you do.”

In 2023, W***y came to AHS dehydrated, underweight, and in pain due to severe frostbite injuries. The end of his nose was raw and tissue on his ears fell off. His legs were bandaged for weeks, and he required a skin graft. However, the damage to his tail and back right leg were extensive, and our vet team decided amputating both would be the best option.

When he was finally ready for his new beginning after more than three months in our care, he didn’t need to look far. A vet tech on his care team couldn’t picture their life without W***y and made him a permanent member of the AHS family. 🧡 Enjoy a photo update of W***y happily at home!
