STERLING

Sterling is a 2017 model bay gelding with APHA SPB and ABRA registration. I started him in 2020 for his owner and had him again for three to four months in 2021. He's been ridden by several other riders off and on since then.
He has been ridden in a lot of different environments and places. He's been ridden in the arena and used in clinics. He has been used outside to day work. Roped and tied down cattle in the pasture. Strong and willing. Been shown in a small ranch horse show and won the overall buckle! He's also been ridden English and went over small jumps.
Since September, he's been getting legged up and back in shape to sell. He's been working the flag and live cattle. He's great to haul, shoe, bathe, and clip.
Sterling would be best fit for an intermediate rider, as he can be a lot of horse with time off. He's not cold backed or a bucker, but may test a rider with limited experience and confidence. In short, he needs a job and regular riding. He was off since May, before he came back to me in early September. He's for sale since his owner is looking to go a different direction at a slower pace than what Sterling can offer.

Due to the recent outbreak with EHV-1/EHM we have decided to postpone any lessons or haul-ins here at our ranch. This is for the safety of our horses and our boarders horses.

Stay tuned for the clinic schedule for 2026! Thank you to everyone that came and rode with me in a clinic or lesson this past year! We had a great group of people and lots of growth was accomplished. I'm looking forward to the blessings 2026 brings!

Yesterday was another great blessing with beautiful weather and great riders! Thank you to all who came out and braved the heat to ride with us in the Ranch Trail Clinic. We had several riders, along with family and friends who audited the clinic! Thanks to each of you for the support of Wells Performance Horsemanship! Looking forward to seeing everyone that comes out to the Ranch Trail Clinic tomorrow! The clinic is full and auditors are welcome at $20 for the day. Please turn in at this sign and follow the gravel road to the outdoor arena. We've been blessed with a little rain earlier this week so please park on the gravel pad or on the gravel road.
