Today we acknowledge the importance of taking time to take care of yourself.

Spending time with pets has been shown to increase levels of the hormone, oxytocin, which is also know as the “love” hormone.

Engaging in activities like taking a leisurely walk with a dog, playing with a cat, or simply relaxing with a pet by your side can provide a comforting routine and mindfulness that is often needed during a mental health day.

Furthermore, pets can serve as a reminder to take breaks, enjoy the moment, and appreciate the simple joys, ultimately contributing to improved mental health and a more balanced lifestyle.
