Dr. Nicole Johnston is a 2008 Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine graduate.
Dr. Johnston’s veterinary passion lies with all things feline medicine and veterinary geriatrics.
Dr. Johnston is an Army spouse and is setting down roots in Copperas Cove with her husband, daughter, and three cats: Mr. Ralphles, Cecelia Grace Cupcake, and Lady Margaret Thatcher.
In her spare time, Dr. Johnston loves exploring new places with her family, researching her family history, and gardening to improve native habitats.

Arthritis is extremely common in pets, especially as they age. Signs of arthritis in pets include (but are not limited to):

-Stiff or swollen joints
-Difficulty standing from a lying position
-Difficulty going upstairs or jumping
-Reduced muscle volume in the rear limbs

Indications of acupuncture include pain management for musculoskeletal or neurologic diseases, geriatric management to promote quality of life, and management of any chronic disease in which treatment options are limited in Western medicine. Acupuncture is a very safe medical procedure when administered by a qualified veterinarian and over 95% of patients are comfortable with acupuncture therapy, as seen by this picture of one of our patients today!
