Jasmine and Nina's Pet Care

Jasmine and Nina's Pet Care At Jasmine & Nina's we have everything you and your pets need for a comfortable stay away from home. My love of dogs began when we adopted our pup, Nina.
(7)

My name is Jasmine Riggs and I am the owner of Jasmine & Nina's Pet Care. Having the opportunity to train her and bond with her helped me realize my love for these animals. I have been in the pet care business since 2017, and have experience working with a variety of dog breeds and other animals. Nina adores other dogs and is always welcoming to our guests. When your dog is with us you can be sure

that they will be in loving hands. Every dog that enters our home becomes part of our pack. I will send daily updates along with pictures and videos of your dog so you can have peace of mind while you are away. Prior to any booking, I will schedule a meet-and-greet with you and your fur baby. This will provide an opportunity for you to meet me, and for our dogs to meet each other. Meet-and-greets allow for both parties to feel comfortable with one another before continuing with any services. Before booking appointments please be sure that your dog is up-to-date on all vaccinations. If you are interested in day care or boarding services, it is mandatory that your dog, whether male or female, is fixed. It is possible that your dog may not be the only pup staying with us while you are away. Therefore, aggressive dogs will not be allowed to stay for day care or boarding. Thank you for trusting us with your fur baby. We look forward to walking, running and playing with them.

For all my dog lovers and owners, please be aware of a canine repository virus going around. Seems to be highly contagious and deadly. Be diligent and do your own research. But guidance says to keep away from social dog areas until they know more.

The Science Behind This Quirky Dog Habit 🐕🔍

Aside from tidying up, dogs kick the ground after relieving themselves to mark their territory. 📍This is why they spend so much time sniffing around anywhere another animal may have eliminated. They're constantly monitoring their territory and sniffing out information about other dogs who have come and gone. 🐶

Sniffaris: The Type of Walk Dogs Love Most 🐶❤️

Many pet parents tend to think of dog walks as a time for their canine BFF to relieve themselves or get some exercise (which are important, of course). But for dogs, walking is their chance to satisfy the desire to sniff the always-fascinating world outside their home. They explore the world with their noses, so don’t deprive them of their scent-ventures. 🐕🚶

🚫 A Warning to Pet Parents This 🚫

Macadamia nuts are the only nuts pets should steer clear of, as they can cause profound GI upset if ingested even in very small amounts. Other types of raw, unsalted nuts are safe for pets – they don’t contain any toxins that affect pets – but are still listed on many websites as “foods pets should avoid” because they can be a choking hazard (so chop all nuts into tiny, bite-sized pieces before using as training treats 👍). And remember, no macadamias for pets.

ATTENTION Pet Parents!

A chemical used in Milk-Bones, Ol’Roy, Kibbles’n Bits, Hill’s Pet Food and other pet foods should no longer be considered safe for consumption due to concerns about its ability to damage DNA according to a new animal-model study.

According to the Environmental Working Group: “A scientific panel created by the European Food Safety Authority found that titanium dioxide “can no longer be considered as safe when used as a food additive.” The panel, citing concerns about titanium dioxide’s genotoxicity, or its ability to damage DNA, based its conclusion on a review of hundreds of scientific studies. EWG called on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to quickly consider whether to ban titanium dioxide from use in food."

A chemical that may damage our pet's DNA should not be fed to pets.

Titanium dioxide is on The Forever Dog’s Dirty Dozen list of additives you need to avoid in your pet food. www.ForeverDog.com/about

I’ve seen others posting about the new Channing Tatum movie “Dog” so I wanted to put my thoughts out there. Every time a dog breed is featured in a film, there is a surge in ownership of that breed, without understanding of what that breed is. Malinois are serious dogs, and need a LOT of training. They are amazing, intelligent, driven dogs, but not for most homes. If you see the movie and think, “ it’d be really cool to have a dog like that,” just don’t. You’ll be in over your head, and with a Mal that can be dangerous. So appreciate them, read books about all the cool stuff they have done in war zones, but don’t think that translates to a dog that is content to sleep on the sofa 22 hours a day. As an example of this I present the photo of 2 kitted out special forces soldiers in training, and the most dangerous weapons these guys are carrying wear basket muzzles.
