It’s a sad day at Knox-Whitley Humane. Our dear house cat, Mooey has crossed the rainbow bridge today, September 21, 2024 after losing her battle with cancer.

Mooey, who caught the eye of everyone who visited the shelter due to her beautiful long hair and green eyes, had been a shelter resident since July of 2022.

We kept her as a house cat for about 7 months before she got adopted, but she got returned shortly after because she had become too comfortable being with us and was unsure of the unfamiliarity of a new home. She had been with us ever since.

Fly High, Mooey. You will forever be in our hearts 🌈❤️🪽

Well here’s your chance Sunday @ 10am we are meeting for our monthly hike at Laurel Lake! 3 miles total, semi easy walking and you get to walk a shelter pup who’s in waiting! We are coming up on our Knox Whitley Humane Association Mutt Strut 5k and fun Dogwalk! This event is so much fun for everyone, including the dogs! It is Saturday October 5th at 6pm in Williamsburg and will be featuring door prize drawings for participants! To register you can print off this registration form and either mail in or drop off to Maguet Medical Center in Moonbow Plaza in Corbin, Knox Whitley animal shelter at 66 busy lane Corbin , or Runners Shop across from Don Franklin Toyota. You can also sign up online at runsignup.com and search for Knox Whitley and registration will pull up. We will also have sign ups at race prior to run but pre registration is preferred to have packets ready. Looking forward to seeing everyone there! ❤️

Tomorrow will be one week away from our microchip clinic!!!

Please consider getting your pet microchipped if they are indoor/outside pets, wonder off frequently, travel with you.

We have 100 chips and hope to use every one of them! Please help us microchip 100 animals to insure they get back to their families if lost.

You heard that right we are hosting a free microchip clinic on September 21st from 10 am until gone. This is only for Knox, Whitley and Clay county residents. We have 100 microchips and hope to use every one of them.

It is a first come first, serve basis!
