Big News!!! Read everything!!! Meet the newest addition to Copper Penny Goldens, Pearl! Beautiful Pearl is a 6mo AKC English Cream Golden Retriever from Champion bloodlines... Oooo, fancy right? 😉😆
But Pearl isn't just gorgeous to look at or awesome on paper, she is sweet as sugar, very smart and eager to learn.

Why did we decide to ad an English cream to our family instead of another American Red? We had several reasons actually...

1. Personality is the first reason for us at Copper Penny Goldens. English creams are known for their exceptionaly calm and loyal personalities. And by getting Pearl at almost 6mo we can know her personality is just that. Pearl is gentle, loving and eager to please us already. Her future puppies are going to be exceptional! (Penny and Copper joined us as a older puppies as well)

2. Diversifying our genetic line will help the Golden Retriever breed stay strong and healthy. Many reds are bred with reds and creams are bred to creams, so you can end up with some too closely related. So by mixing things up you can avoid genetic health issues. But don't worry, we very carefully checked that none of our dogs are related as far back as 5 generations.

3. Color! What color will Copper and Pearl's future puppies be? This is the fun part, we will get a nice mix. Most of their puppies will come out a blond or true golden. But we will also likely get a mix of several shades.
We have had some inquiries about wanting one of Copper's pups but preferring a lighter color. This will give our families a fun choice.

You will have to wait a while for a "Copper Pearl" puppy, but I asure you they will be worth it.

Hi Copper Penny families! Can you believe your pups are over 3 months old now? From your pictures I see they are growing like weeds!
Just wanted to check in with a friendly reminder to check with your vet on planning the timing of your puppy's spay or neuter. I have used my personal vet for ours in the past, and have worked with Texas Coalition for Animal Protection too, when we were fostering. They can be a wonderful low cost resource if needed.

That's a wrap! All our puppies are with their new families! Thank you all for your kind words and giving our little guys wonderful loving homes! I truly pour my heart into each of them, and I hope you all feel that.
Well, I better go put our sunroom back together! Have a wonderful summer with your new babies!!!

Penny is such a good mama. She is dry and will bark to get them off after a bit, but it is sweet to see little moments like this. Tomorrow is go home day for these two! I am exhausted, but feel I poured everything I had into our puppies, and am proud of all of them. I am definitely ready to sleep past 6am again, and get back to spoiling Copper and Penny.

Just kidding, Rosie had a great time with my little girl outside getting dirty, and she also liked bath time. Don't they look so funny when wet? It looks like she shrunk.

Only a few days left with these sweet babies. Their owners are picking them up Thursday! I'm so excited for them!
It has been neat getting to have more training time with them. First off, they are able to go from about 9:30pm till 6am in their crate without going potty! They are getting good at waiting at the door when I say stay and am walking through the door, instead of just running in. They learned to be quiet when I am bringing them their food, that one was a big deal. And they are now at about 90% proficiency with sit. Goldens are so easy to train because they truly want to please their families.

Time to brag on Penny. She is just the best mama. She did an amazing job raising these babies and has bounced back so well. We are really proud of her.
Copper was awesome too, he loves playing with his babies. I am blessed to have such amazing doggies!

The pen looks so empty with just 3 puppies. It feels a bit lonely, but we are so excited our little guys are enjoying their new families. Thanks so much to those sending pictures already.
One nice thing is it is way easier getting 3 to potty quickly and back inside away from the heat...lol

I can't believe it! Tomorrow is pick-up day!
Pepper, Ruby, Cassie, Ben and Molly will go home tomorrow. Nala will go on Saturday. And last but not least Bear and Rosie will go together to their new home on July 11th.
Fhew! I have been running all day, gave all the puppies a bath, nail trim, last wormer dose, made the puppy go home bags, and made little paw print keepsakes. The puppies did really good letting me stamp their feet and put their paw prints on the cards. I will definitely do it again. I also let the puppies cuddle one last time with their new owners shirts. I know it helps them get aquanted with their sent.
Well, I better go to bed, it's a big day tomorrow.

Potty time!
I am very proud of our little crew. After each meal I let them outback right away, and they are getting really good at getting out the door and going potty on the grass. 🥳 (Sorry the video isn't the best)

Your babies did so well at the vet! All of them had perfect check ups. The vet said they all were super healthy. I was so proud of them, and to show them off to everyone at the vets office. They were definitely popular today! Oh, and not one even made a sound for their shots.

Goldens are such a joy to train. We are working on their recall skills and they are doing awesome. I use a whistle to call their parents but they haven't responded to whistles yet. So I am using a clicking or kissy sound and they are responding beautifully. And as you can see the are gaining lots of confidence climbing stairs too! They get their first shots and vet check on Monday!

We are working on climbing confidence, coming when called and just being darn cute.
