Midsouth rescue pup, Abby says, "Today and every day we thank Veterans everywhere for their service! Wishing you a happy Veteran's day!"

(Abby was hit by a car and her owners didn't want to fix her mangled leg and was brought to a local vet to euthanize her. The vet reached out to Midsouth and asked if we could help. We gladly agreed to take her and our shelter partner, Operation Paws for Homes has committed to finding her a forever home in the Mid-Atlantic and also paid for her surgery. Her new name will be Swiftie and will be available for adoption when she makes her freedom ride north...THANK YOU, OPH!).

These updates always make our hearts so happy! Little Wes was adopted through our shelter partner Operation Paws for Homes (OPH) and is living the life he so deserves! He was an extremely scared dog who could barely be touched and has come so far in his adopter's home. He has two new canine companions, Astro & Minnie, who will help him become more confident.

What a great freedom ride for 22 dogs to our rescue partners Operation Paws for Homes and Briggs Adoption Center in the Mid-Atlantic. Thank you to all of the volunteers and fosters that open their hearts and homes to save these pups. And a big shout out of thanks to Wanda & Michael for driving the transport van!

Midsouth braved the rains brought from Hurricane Helene and drove over 1350 miles round trip to Animal Rescue Project (ARP) in Kalamazoo, Michigan to give 27 fur babies their freedom ride. THANK YOU to Rhonda & Wanda for driving the transport van in non-stop rain and to all of the ARP volunteers and fosters that make saving these dogs' lives a reality. Team work makes the dream work!

Check out the amazing work of our transport partner, SaveDog Project, who saved 25 dogs lives yesterday (9/30/2024). SaveDog relocates 20-30 rescued dogs per transport, 3-4 times a month in a fully climate-controlled transport vehicle averaging 800-2,000 miles round trip with several pre-planned pickups and deliveries of dogs made along the transport route. They transport dogs from overcrowded shelters and rescue groups located in southern states with an overpopulation of abandoned dogs (NC, SC, FL, GA, TN, LA) to vetted receiving partners located in Washington DC, PA, NY, MA, VT and Canada. https://www.savedog.org/what-we-do Operation Paws for Homes

Thank you to all of the volunteers who help to make saving these dogs a reality! 12 pups made their freedom ride and we appreciate Michael & Wanda for driving the transport van and are especially grateful to the SaveDog Project van for meeting us in Doswell and continuing the journey to Operation Paws for Homes (OPH) to deliver 4 dogs. Happy life sweet pups!

Little Kai doesn't need a helmet after all! He had a condition called Molera, where a puppy's skull doesn't fuse completely, leaving a soft spot in the center of the skull. This is normal for puppies, and the hole usually closes which we were pleased to learn has closed (confirmed by TWO vets today). Such great news!

Special thanks to the SaveDog Project for carrying our sweet pups to to their final destination to Operation Paws for Homes (OPH) in the Mid-Atlantic who saved 10 dogs from Midsouth. We are so grateful to OPH fosters and volunteers for giving our pups their chance for a better life.

24 dogs made their freedom ride to our shelter partner, The Animal Rescue Project (ARP) on August 25th. Midsouth volunteers, Wanda and Rhonda drove over 1350 miles round trip from Corinth, MS to Kalamazoo, Michigan (THANK YOU!) and we're so grateful to all of the volunteers and fosters who make this a possibility!
