In a perfect world we would all have hours every day to dedicate to our dogs and their training. But, when you have a full time job, kids, and various other obligations, that’s not always the case.

Having a busy life doesn’t mean your dog’s training has to fall on the back burner. Here are a few things you can begin to implement into your day to add structure and support a desired mindset with your dog.

The face behind Balanced Beginnings K9!✨

Hello everyone! It’s been awhile since I’ve introduced myself and I wanted to take the time to share more information about myself and BBK9 to all of the old and new faces around here.♥️

I’m Natalie!👋🏼 Since I was in elementary school my dream was to become a veterinarian and help animals. However, two years into my undergraduate degree I realized I hated science (Organic Chemistry was not my forte) and I made the decision to pivot and explore differents way I could make an impact in the pet industry. While working at my local animal shelter I eventually discovered a new passion for helping dogs find homes through the process of training and behavior modification! This eventually led me down the path to starting BBK9.🥳

To expand more on my journey into this business.. I was once like many dog owners out there feeling like I was struggling, frustrated, and lost. I had three dogs at the time whose lives entailed a lot of fighting, reactivity, and resource guarding (just to name a few). Through training I was able to transform the life that I had with my dogs and I am passionate about helping others do the same.

My personal pack consist of FOUR dogs
🐕 Libby (10 year old Australian Shepherd)
🐕 Nova (7 year old lab/pit mix)
🐕 Judge (3 year old German Shepherd)
🐕 Mushu (2 year old French Bulldog)

As if four dogs wasn’t enough I also have two cats-Muggles and Toast, two ferrets-Sugar🍭 and Spice🌶️, and the newest addition is Walter, an 8 year old off the track Thouroughbred.🐎

My goal with this business is to help owners achieve a better relationship with their dog and give them the tools to support their dog in becoming the best version of themselves.

This platform is centered around advocating for and educating people on the use of balanced training tools and methods in addition to the important role that relationship plays in your dogs behaviors. I am also here to support every dog owner on their journey to achieving a better life with their dog through training!

Obedience commands are cool but when your puppy is older, confidence is what will help them succeed and thrive!🐶

So skip the party tricks, grab a bag of treats, and go hang out with your new puppy at a local park or pet friendly store.♥️

BBK9’s current day train students.🐾

Sisters Jorah and Jude are currently about half way through their 4 week day train program with us.🥳

Miss Jorah is a 2 year old Miniature poodle and her sister Jude is a 10 month old Miniature Daschund! Both of these girl are here to receive a solid foundation in their basic obedience commands as well as increase their reliability around distractions.🐕

Jorah and Jude have already made great progress over their first two weeks but stay tuned to see what they will continue to accomplish.♥️

Our current board and trains ♥️

🐶 Akira, the 6.5 year old German Shepherd/Husky mix who is with us for a 3 week board and train program to add some more reliability to her commands as well as work on some defensive behavior around new dogs and people.

🐶 Willow, the 8 month Cockapoo is currently with us for a 2 week board and train program to learn all the basics as well as work on some minor reactivity and impulse control around people and dogs.♥️

Both dogs are already working through their last week with us and have made amazing progress! Stayed tuned for a peek into their go home lessons.🥳

Hello! & welcome to our page.♥️

I am Natalie, the founder and owner of The Dog Wash Company.🛁🧽🐶

For the past 3 years I have been serving the dog’s of Corning and beyond through the professional training services of

Now I am excited to expand into this new company where we will be offering further options to care for and pamper your 4 legged family member’s.☺️

Upon opening we will be providing a variety of basic and specialty spa services as well as offering locally produced pet products in our small, storefront pet boutique.

In the near future our plan is to expand into further professional grooming services as well as self service options.

I’m so excited to share more as we get closer to opening our store as well as continuing to care for and improve the lives of our local pet community.

We’ve all heard those comments.🙄

You’re sharing training milestone’s with your dog and someone feels the need to comment..

“But can they do it without the prong collar?”
or
“I was impressed until I saw the e-collar.”

Just because an owner still utilizes training tools doesn’t mean their dog isn’t “trained.”

It means they understand that their dog is not a robot and they prioritize safety and the ability to clearly communicate with their dog when needed.

Don’t rush to eliminate the tools that improve your dogs life just because someone says your dog isn’t considered “trained” until you do.

BBK9 is saying good luck and see you soon to Li while he embarks on a new journey this summer working with at the in Jackson, Wyoming. 🏔️

At the same time we are welcoming Cheyenne, the owner and head trainer with who is so graciously staying with me and helping me out this summer with Al things dogs and life while Li is away.♥️

I’m so excited for the season to come and all of the new changes and projects we have planned for the summer. So stay tuned for updates on what’s next.😉

Welcome Nacho and Joy!🐶♥️

Nacho, the Havanese, and Joy, the Golden Retriever, are both 5 month old puppies who just joined us for their 2 week board and train!🥳

Both of these pups will be working on all of the basics to shape them into well rounded adults. In additin to the basics, we’ll also be addressing some potty training troubles as well as some mouthy behavior during play from Nacho and some resource guarding issues with Joy.
