It's been a while, but we're still here! And still fostering some really lovely scaly critters. Thunder is a sweet and snuggly ball python that would love a home with time for extra snuggles. He also loves to explore when he gains confidence. Let us know if you want an application! 🐍

We have a very important pupdate for Noxy Bear! She has been off of her steroids for a few weeks and she had bloodwork done last week. It is finally PERFECT! It took 5 months, but our Big Bear is officially recovered from her illness at Christmas! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

Now, we're on to a new journey for her health. Many of you know that Nox is allergic to a lot of things. Vaccines, pollen, chicken, bug bites.... We decided she needed professional help. She is so itchy and miserable this year and getting so sick in December, we have to make sure we choose the safest way to treat her allergies with her history. The best way to start is officially to figure out those pesky allergies!

First, Nox had her blood taken to test for environmental allergies. We are getting custom allergy injections over the next 6 months to a year based on those results. Hopefully, she can stop taking oral allergy medicines or at least drastically reduce her doses if she still needs them.

We are also starting a special home cooked diet for up to 2 months and then adding foods back in to try to pinpoint any food allergies. We've kept chicken out of her diet for years and we are ready to adjust to whatever else she needs!

We are working toward the happiest life a giant pup can have! And Nox deserves every single thing. She is the absolute goodest girl! 🥰

It's been a long 6 months of medicine and bloodwork, but we are almost done! We couldn't have made it this far without everyone that loves her! Nox loves all of you so very much! 🥰🐶💕

You are killing your Mother.

We were at Cornell late last night for an allergic reaction. We don't know for sure, but we suspect it's something outside.

This morning we woke up to three different spots on the floor where Nox puked, so we went to our regular vet to follow-up.

The allergic reaction is extra concerning because she is still on steriods from her stay at Cornell over the holidays. Steroids normally keep those reactions under control. We have no idea if this is related to what caused her to get sick over the holidays or if this could mean she has some sort disorder with her immune system. We have a full blood panel sent out to an outside lab to double check all her levels. We need to make sure the steroids aren't causing any serious adverse effects and that she isn't becoming sick all over again.

We've also contacted Cornell's dermatology department and are hoping to make it onto their schedule for May. It may take until June. This is the first step to figuring out what may cause her allergic reactions.

We also have to check with her doctor at Cornell to see if we can give Nox deworming medicine. On top of everything else, she has tape worms. Probably from eating some wild p**p on the farm. 🙃

💕 Please keep thinking of Nox. She needs all the love she can get.
