The last amazing tech week post is for our LVT Allison. Allison joined Dr. Allen in her dream of opening her own clinic in the very beginning (even working at her dinning room table during the start up). When Allison isn’t working she enjoys spending time with her growing family, going to training classes with her dobie, and hiking. Thank you Allison for all you do!

Our next tech featured is April…April joined our team in March 2024 and it feels like she has been here since the start! April came to us with many years of experience in Vet Med and is so amazing at what she does. On her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, riding side by sides, camping, reading, and playing with her frenchie. Thanks for all you do April. We are so happy to have you as part of the TLC family!

We want you to get to know each of our LVTs so we will spotlight one a day. Today’s LVT is Ashley! Ashley actually was one of Dr. Allen’s mentors when she was in her tech program. Ashley joined the TLC team at the very beginning and is such an important member. In her free time Ashley loves to rehab old furniture, go antiquing, travel, and spend time with her family and pets.

What does a Vet Tech do all day? Well the list is pretty long but here is a brief summary……answer phones, run labwork, microscopic exams, educate clients, place catheters, administer injections, care for the ill, give medications, take xrays, make referrals, keep medical records, drug logs, monitor anesthesia, dental cleanings, make your pet feel safe and loved, and support the veterinarian in any way they need. Our three LVTs Ashley, Allison, and April (left to right) are such an important part of the TLC family and I would be lost without them. PS. Allison had her baby and we are in love with our newest TLC family member.

We will be closed on Friday September 6th as NYSEG needs to turn off our electric to install a new pole and meter. We are so sorry for the inconvenience but this is mandatory. If you have any emergencies below is a photo of local urgent and emergency care facilities. We will be back in office on Monday September 9th at 8am.

We have had a busy couple weeks with some team building/earring making (thank you twisted clay co on Main Street) and celebrating Allison and her newest addition to the TLC family. We are so lucky to work with a group of women who support each other in everything we do.

Some cute playtime during our morning office appointment!

This is something our team works really hard to do and that is to make our clinic a place pets want to be. To us we want all the pets to walk in tail wagging or come out purring. Many of you may have already seen we do this using distraction techniques and positive reinforcement. This puppy will continue to visit regularly and receive happy interactions that will turn into a dog who is happy to get his annual exam and vaccines (along with lots of treats, hugs, and kisses).

We are dancing into the weekend around here!

When the staff bring their pets in for care things get pretty wild…….

Some say this job is cuddling puppies! Our wonderful LVT Allison is a trained professional and knows all the risks 😆

Here at TLC we try to be fear free so we use distraction and positive reinforcement when doing procedures so the patients want to come back. Here is a cute kitten getting vaccines and barely noticing. He gives the cat treats a 5 star review!
