It pains us to have to give you the update that Lilac and two of her siblings did not make it. They have been battling distemper since November and have succumbed to this nasty disease. Their little bodies tried so hard to fight it off but we didn’t have the funds to keep going given their grim prognosis. We can only do what we have the financial ability to do and thanks to your help, we were able to give them a fighting chance. Two of Lilac’s siblings did survive and they are available for adoption at Sondra's City Zoo. If you’re interested, please stop down to Sondra’s at 2024 Lake Rd in Elmira.

We have been doing this for a long time and it never gets easier. When we setup these fundraisers, we do it because we desperately need the funding to help stray, neglected, and abused animals. Every cent you donate goes straight to the animals. The next time you see a fundraiser, please understand that we can’t continue helping innocent animals without your financial support.

We have THREE pups that are still at the vet and desperately need help! We haven’t given up on them but we need your help to continue! Here’s a little update on our pups! Lilac is being fostered by one of the staff members at our wonderful vet clinic. The other two were sent home and doing great, until yesterday. Now they are back at the vet and hospitalized again. Distemper is a NASTY disease with quite a long healing process. They aren’t out of the woods yet but we do have the most amazing vet you could ask for. Please continue to pray for these guys.. we want fast healing so they can make their way into their FURever homes to live the rest of their lives loved! Thank you to everyone who has donated so far! As you can see, this has been a very long journey!!

We DESPERATELY NEED YOU.. The PUPPIES DESPERATELY NEED YOU!!

Lilac and two of her siblings have pneumonia and suspected distemper!! They are currently still hospitalized. When taking these puppies into care, we knew the shape they were in.. with Lilac being the worst with her eye. We set our fundraising goal at $5,000 knowing what we were possibly in for. The problem is, that we haven’t reached our goal and at this point, we don’t even know if this will be enough.

I know we haven’t done a fundraiser in a few years but in order to help these puppies, we had no choice but to put one together. We are so grateful for those who have donated and shared our posts but we can’t stop here! We have to raise the funds to be able to afford this or we can’t continue. If we aren’t able to cover our vet bill, we won’t be able to do this again. Simply put, these puppies would have died without immediate treatment.

This is why we desperately need the help funding the vet care for these puppies. This is one of Lilac’s siblings and there are two puppies that are now walking like this. Our vet is aware and they will be going back to the vet tomorrow for X-rays. PLEASE, if you can find it in your heart to help these guys, they need it!! We can’t do this without you!

As we are coming to the end of the year, we would be ever so grateful if you could help us help Lilac and her four siblings.

Lilac is still at our vet and recovering from her eye removal and upper respiratory infection. We don’t have a bill yet, but we know this kind of care is not cheap! Lilac also has four other siblings that we were able to bring into care.. all of them have been seen by our vet.

If we do not raise the funds to cover our expenses, we can’t continue doing this as this is the first fundraiser we’ve had in a very long time. In the event that our bill is less than the amount we raise, the remainder will cover the initial vetting and spays/neuters for Lilac and her siblings. Any remaining funds will offset any other emergencies that arise.

Our fear is that we will not have enough to cover this emergency and if this is the case, we cannot continue to help the next time this happens. Please don’t put us in this position.. PLEASE help us, help them! And if you can’t donate, please please please just share this post and encourage your friends to donate as we can’t do this without YOU!

As you’re preparing your Thanksgiving meal, if you could please take a minute to share sweet Lilac’s fundraiser, we’d greatly appreciate it. She is recovering nicely with our wonderful vet but she’ll be spending the holiday trying to recuperate. We don’t know what this will cost us but we know emergency surgery isn’t cheap. We also know that we can’t do this without you! If we can’t raise the funds, we can’t continue saving lives. If we get lucky and raise more than what’s needed, please know that the money will go into a fund to provide vetting for the four other puppies from this same litter that we took in. Not a single cent goes into anyone’s pocket; in fact, with rescue, we not only donate our time but we also donate our our own money and we canNOT possibly do this alone. Good morning everyone! We wanted to update you on Lilac! She had her eye removed by our fantastic veterinarian and she is recovering! We apologize for the photos but this is the reality of the torture that she’s had to experience in her short time on earth.

If you could PLEASE find it in your heart to help us help her and pay her medical bills, please make a tax deductible donation through the GoFundMe page we setup. If you can’t donate, please share it and spread the word. If we don’t reach our goals when we setup these fundraisers then we won’t be able to continue saving these lives. We know it's been awhile but we are calling to our PAWsome community to help us save Lilac! We canNOT do this without you!

On the morning of November 26, 2024, Tanner's P.A.W.S. picked up a 10 week old puppy (now named 'Lilac') in dire need of emergency eye surgery.

We were absolutely heartbroken to see this brave little soul suffer, so we quickly sprung into action to provide her with the care she desperately needed. Now, Lilac is at the vet awaiting emergency surgery. Lilac's surgery is not just a medical procedure; it’s necessary to save her life. With every moment that passes, her pain grows, but there is hope. Tanner’s P.A.W.S. is committed to giving Lilac a fighting chance. However, the cost of this urgent surgery is substantial, and we cannot do it alone.
