Thank you for visiting The Puppy Nursery. I specialize in AKC Shih Tzu's of all sizes, from Teacup Shih Tzu, to Imperial Shih Tzu, to a traditional size Shih Tzu. Occasionally, I will breed Yorkies & Shorkies.
All of my puppies come with a 1 year health guarantee & have been vet checked. No puppy will leave my home without a clean bill of health & the maturity to be able to leave their mama &
siblings, which typically is 8-12 weeks but can be longer for the tiny teacup sizes. Well, I started raising puppies about 12 years ago after I stopped raising others' (I had a home daycare for over 21 years). My love for breeding was actually born out of my love for taking care of the babies & their mama's during pregnancy, the birth, and the early days & months of their precious little lives. I am the true definition of a family/hobby breeder. My adult dogs & puppies are raised inside my home as part of my family. They are showered with love & socialized well with humans & dogs outside their litter. It's not as easy as some may think, but I find it to be a very rewarding experience. I love all my puppies & I feel a moral & ethical responsibility to make sure they ultimately go to great homes to love & be loved for their rest of their lives. I reserve the right to turn down a new owner/home I do not feel is a good fit.
I realize that sometimes life circumstances change outside of our control. I guarantee that if for whatever reason you can no longer care for the dog you picked up from me, I will care for it - anything to keep it from a pound or a dog rescue. I have earned the nickname of "dog lady" from a lot of friends, and occasionally find myself being given dogs other people can no longer care for. So occasionally, I will have an adult dog I am rehoming, whether or not they were originally one of mine.
I prefer not to ship my puppies, however, I do make exceptions on a case-by-case basis. But I would rather meet my baby's new family in person & to avoid any unnecessary stress or danger on the pup. Plus, I feel like a buyer should want to see where the puppy came from & meet both their parents & me. If you promise to love my little fur babies as much as I do & treat them as part of your family, please contact me & I will make sure to find you your perfect lil' (paw) match.

CYPRESS is headed home & on his first big boy road trip! So excited for his mom, Shawn, with her first Shih Tzu & little dog! He is joining his big bro English Bulldog & a cat at home (he actually joined them in the car bc they all go everywhere together)! Cypress’s new mommy is excited about her new “addition to [her] little fam. He’s going to be a good play buddy for my cat and dog as well as a cuddle buddy. I am looking forward to taking him on lots of little adventures around the Bay.” I’m going to miss Cypress running around my house but I’m happy for him - can’t wait for all the places & fun & people Cypress will get to experience!

Our Bunny Beignet, now Max(ie) was picked up from her new family, yesterday, just in time to enjoy a rainy holiday weekend! They are enjoying the weekend with Maxie decompressing & getting all the cuddles & play time at home. In Maxie’s mom’s words: “We are excited to add a new family member to our (all-girl) household. Beignet will be the love of our lives and I cannot wait to be her caretaker. She will be a friend & companion. I’m blessed to have the opportunity to care for her and give her the best life possible…forever.” My heart is full knowing Maxie had joined this family & will be the center of their world 💗

Happy 1st Bday to our keeper girl, Dior! We adore you & still find humor in all your mischief. Thank you for becoming a better listener these past few months & not continuing to run the opposite way when being called on. Most especially, thank you for the invasion of my personal space with your incessant kisses. And no, you still can’t have part of my dinner. The rule & boundary still applies, even on your special day.

Saint is home! Now Otis, his parents are excited to start this next chapter in their lives after abruptly losing their 1st son, a Shih Tzu, a few weeks back. They couldn’t imagine a life without a Shih Tzu & are excited for new beginnings in their new home with their new baby. Also, how cool is Dad’s shirt!?!

Joy is home! Joy found her way into the hearts of the Nourse family, one of our longtime clients. This is their 3rd puppy from our nursery & we couldn’t be happier she gets to call their big, wild family, her own.

Our beautiful little Holly, estimated to weigh 5.5 - 7 lbs as an adult, is looking for her . Holly comes from a long line of our Shih Tzus. Her mom is Baby, who is Havana’s daughter, who is our retired Mishka’s daughter, who is our retired Meiling’s daughter (& our foundation line). Their babies are always extra special to us. She is ready to fly the coup at 12 weeks (she’s 11 weeeks now) & we are available for in-person or video visitations. Our application can be found at the link in bio.

The sisters are home! V***n & Dancer, now Junie & Jurnie, are filling some hearts & getting spoiled! These two found themselves a devoted family that will take good care of them now & furever! The excitement of this mother & daughter is beyond & we are grateful to see their commitment in raising not one, but TWO, puppies from our home!

Our tiny, spicy, Eve is home! This couple is in for a real treat with their very first puppy together - after only rescuing Shih Tzus. They are equally nervous & excited but with all the puppy kisses their new addition gives, they will soon be owned by her! Little Eve’s name is still TBD & she has 2 Shih Tzu siblings at home ❤️

Blitzen is home! Yvette has been waiting for a white Shih Tzu boy for several months & as soon as they came to visit our boys, it was undeniable that Blitzen wanted to be part of their family. His more laid back nature is perfect for their home with a special need & simply put, this connection was just meant to be. This family is delighted for all the love that “Basil” will be receiving & giving to everyone at home!

Faith aka Claire is home!!! This family contacted me the same week they lost their existing Tzu. They wanted time to grieve but didn’t want to be without a dog for long, primarily for their daughter. A 4-month wait would be perfect to grieve & then to shift that grief into excitement for new life & new memories. I heard from the husband almost every day for the past 4 months - to say they were invested, excited, & prepared is an understatement. I was always asked about how Kim was doing or how Bebe was doing, before even the babies. There was something that felt special to me about that.
Early on, when a waitlist deposit was made over Zelle I saw that Malek owned an auto shop. At the time, my secondary car I don’t necessarily want to sell was at the dealership & I felt I was being taken advantage of. I searched online, saw his amazing 5 ⭐️reviews, picked up the phone & called him. To make a long story short, he insisted I get my car towed to him. He fixed my car for 1/4 of the price, got me reimbursed from the dealership for an improper diagnosis & took care of me like family. And now we are forever linked through car repair & Shih Tzus! Life is so random & I love it!
Their daughter is so excited to have little Claire as her little sister. And I’m honored to be part of this family for the foreseeable future.

Our Annabelle is home! We always say the PERFECT person will come & they always do! And the wait was definitely worth it! Our tiny girl didn’t find a home when her siblings did so we waited & spayed at 13 months (2 months after her 1st heat). And today she went home with the perfect family for her: a compassionate & empathetic couple dedicated to their Tzus! She has a tiny young brother at home with the energy to match hers & an older standard at home that enjoys the cuddle time. My heart is full.
