We're thrilled to announce that Gulf Coast Humane Society is now a PetSmart Charities Adoption Prep grantee! 🐾❤️

This grant will not only help us enhance our adoption events but also boost our advertising efforts and expand our reach beyond Corpus Christi. With this support, we’ll be able to connect more pets with loving families through a greater number of events, giving our furry friends the best chance to find their forever homes.

☀️Pet Parents: Watch Out for the Heat! ☀️
The Texas heat can be brutal for our furry friends. Here’s how to keep them safe:

🐾Tips:
-Walk early mornings or late evenings
-Limit outside activity
-Keep water bowls filled with cool water
-Provide shade if they’re outside
-Never leave them alone in the car

🔥 Heat Stroke Signs:
-Heavy panting, drooling
-Lethargy, red gums, vomiting
-Unsteady movements

If your pet shows any of these symptoms, move them to a cool spot, offer water, and contact your vet ASAP. Keep your pets cool and safe this summer! 🐶🐱

🌟 Heartwarming Update! 🌟

We are overjoyed to share some amazing news with you all! Thanks to your incredible generosity and support, we have raised over $7,000 for our sweet rescue pups Barnacle Boy, Tuna, and Dolphina which includes a generous $5000 donation from The Patel Firm Injury Accident Lawyers!🙌

We introduced you to these brave little fighters last week who came to us in heartbreaking condition, almost completely hairless and unbearably itchy due to Demodex. But because of your donations and shares, these pups are already looking and feeling so much better! Their eyes are brighter, their tails are wagging, and they are beginning to experience the love and comfort they so desperately needed. 🐾❤️

While their journey isn't over yet, they are now on the road to a beautiful new beginning. Your kindness has made an enormous difference in their recovery, and we cannot thank you enough for being their heroes. Together, we've given them a real chance at a healthy, happy life. Every dollar and every share has helped to spread the word and bring us closer to our goal.

GCHS is currently preparing to host a free pet food pantry for the community on August 12th. Gulf Coast Humane Society's Pet Pantry supports Nueces County residents in caring for their pets by providing free pet food to pet owners needing assistance.

Meet Gabby!🐾
She's a 1 year old German Shepherd mix who's great with cats, dogs, and kids!
Gabby was transferred into our care from Robstown Animal Control back in April of this year after found roaming the streets.

Since then Gabby has been having a great time in her foster home getting a taste of what her forever home will be like! Gabby's personality will light up any room she walks into. Wearing jammies, trying new treats, and cuddling with cats are just a few of her new favorite hobbies! She loves meeting new people and exploring new places❤️ Gabby is heartworm positive, have no fear! Her treatment is on us at NO EXTRA COST to you!

🐾 IMMEDIATE HELP NEEDED FOR 3 PUPPIES🐾

After an urgent Facebook post revealed several puppies in serious, unbearable conditions, we knew we had to act fast to provide the care they desperately needed. Despite the majority of our administration team being away at an animal welfare conference, our dedicated development coordinator sprang into action to help quickly coordinate their rescue alongside another local rescue and the city of Corpus Christi.

Just by looking at these poor pups, you can tell these little ones are almost completely hairless and unbearably itchy. Barnacle Boy, Tuna, and Dolphina have all tested positive for Demodex which is caused by tiny mites that live in the hair follicles, leading to hair loss, itching, and discomfort. Although we are currently trying to ease their pain, treatment is costly and we can't do it alone.

Your donation can make all the difference in their journey to recovery, relieving their suffering and giving them a chance at a healthy, happy life. Every dollar counts, and every share helps spread the word. Together, we can give them the bright future they deserve.
