Fireworks and celebrations may be fun for us — but for pets, they can cause real fear and anxiety. Each year, countless pets go missing after escaping in panic during fireworks displays.
This 4th of July, help keep your pets safe and calm with these simple tips:
🔒 Secure your yard and home – Scared pets may jump fences or break through doors. Make sure gates, doors, and windows are secure.
📲 Update ID tags & microchips – In case your pet does get out, updated contact info can help them get home safely.
🏠 Keep them indoors – Bring outdoor pets inside well before fireworks begin. Create a quiet, cozy space away from noise.
🎶 Soothing sounds help – Play calming music, white noise, or turn on the TV to help muffle booms and bangs.
🐶 Stay calm and comforting – Your presence can be their biggest comfort. Avoid punishing fear responses.
Let’s make this Independence Day a safe one for every member of the family — even the furry ones. 💙
