Cecily is a spunky girl that doesn't let her 'disability' get in her way! She lives at The Cattery Princess Cecily lives at The Cattery Cat Shelter.

The Cattery is a cage-free cat shelter that rescues abandoned, sick and/or abused cats and cares for them until they find their permanent, loving home. In answer to our community's pet overpopulation problem, The Cattery also started Corpus Christi's first High Quality, High Volume, Low Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic for cats and dogs. We believe in the human/animal bond and that people love their pets.

Most of you know about our Princess Cecily and the health issues she has faced her entire life! She was born with Manx Syndrome, which left her incontinent and with badly deformed legs. Her back legs had to be amputated because of infection but that didn't stop her from being happy and active. A little over a year ago, she developed pressure sores on her bum and one of them has not healed despite medication, laser treatments and Phovia treatments. The wound will not stay clean because of her incontinence and therefore has not healed. It was getting better with a product called Suture Seal, but that product was recently discontinued. Her wound started getting worse again, to the point where bone was exposed. Today we tried a stem cell applicant, which is expensive, but we are hoping it will speed up the healing. We wouldn't be able to try new treatments to save Princess Cecily's life without participation in our fundraisers by our wonderful Cattery Community.

The Princess

Cecily is a Manx kitty that was born with deformed back legs and is incontinent. She was brought to The Cattery Cat Shelter, where staff and volunteers quickly fell in love with her. Unfortunately, her legs had to be amputated because they became infected.

She's a happy-go-lucky girl, that takes 2 baths a day and wears the cutest outfits to keep her diaper in place.

She's a bit spoiled, but that's no surprise, since she's a princess.
