🚨Foster / Forever Needed ASAP 🚨
Annie, a brave soul facing the loss of her hearing, needs our urgent support. A severe infection has tragically resulted in the removal of one of her ears. Now, she faces the difficult prospect of having the other ear canal removed in Silver City.

To ensure Annie receives the best possible care and minimize her stress during this challenging time, we are searching for a loving foster home in Silver City. Being close to her surgeon is crucial for her recovery.

If you can open your heart and home to this deserving animal, please contact Mitzi immediately. Your compassion will make a world of difference in Annie's life!

On November 23 Clovis Animal Welfare asked MBTR to take custody of a brown and white Boston Terrier who was living on the street.
Volunteer Audrey drove to Clovis and brought him to Albuquerque.
Last week the incredibly difficult decision was made to euthanize John Brown (JB) Scout. After living with 3 different fosters (Lesa, Cindy, and Allie) and being seen by veterinary professionals it was determined that JBScout had a head trauma or brain tumor that made it impossible for him to have a quality of life. He was broken in ways we could not fix. He had a fractured pelvis from being hit by a car or abused.
Behavioral euthanasia is a reality we face in rescue. It is an agonizing decision.. one not taken lightly and settled on after exhausting every possible option.
JB Scout was loved by everyone he met and we are all heartbroken. His foster Allie knew him best of all and was comforted knowing JB Scout was certain he was loved. That’s for sure!!
Rescue work isn’t always happy endings. Sometimes it requires the most compassionate, albeit painful, choices to prevent further suffering and harm.
Sara and the team at Thrive, Dr. Russman, Dr. Danielson at VCA, Dr. Jeff Nichol, and Brit all tried to help JBScout.

WE NEED YOUR HELP. Cases like JB Scouts are very challenging and we need dedicated volunteers to help through these difficult situations.
Fostering, transporting, helping dogs with needs, or supporting our team
emotionally. We are advocates for the dog; finding the balance between compassion and safety is challenging.

In the moment we help each dog to the best of our ability.
Salut John Brown Scout❤️ 🌈🐾
