CARMA - Companion Animal Rescue & Medical Assistance CARMA has a fee of $115 for cats and dogs. We also do a home visit before adopting out the animal.

CARMA is a New Mexico, non profit, all volunteer, foster care-based corporation aimed at addressing the needs of abandoned, abused, and neglected companion animals (cats and dogs). CARMA stresses local involvement, but will reach out to all communities to assist animals in need and to identify safe and appropriate placement. The fee pays for the spay/neuter and age-appropriate vaccinations. The ap

plication process involves filling out a paper application and then going through a verbal screening with one of our members. Our adoption clinics are at Petco 3601 Old Airport Road near Cottonwood Mall Saturday from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m. We are not doing the clinics right now because of COVID 19. ATTENTION: Our 4 Paws Pet Food Bank hours and process have changed. Effective July 1, the hours of operation are: Wed, & Sat from 10 am-1 pm. Closed all other days. Cat and dog food are available from our Pet Food Bank located at Corrales Kennels 490 E Valverde Drive. While the Food Bank is located on the grounds of the Corrales Kennels, it is operated by CARMA. Please do NOT disturb the Kennel staff. Proceed directly to the Pet Food Bank. If it is staffed and open, someone will help you. Otherwise, please return the next time it is scheduled to be open. Sadly the pet parent to these three beautiful babies recently passed away. Dobby, Shani, and Cass have lived together for years and share a strong, loving bond. They get along beautifully—playing, napping, and grooming each other—and provide each other with comfort and companionship. While each has a unique personality, they’ve formed a close-knit little family. Ideally, they would love to stay together in their next home, where they can continue to thrive side by side. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! Please help. Please share.
On April 17, 18, and 19, RezDawg Rescue, Inc will be sponsoring spay/neuter clinics in Sandoval County, Los Lunas and possibly the South Valley. No medical knowledge is necessary. They desperately need VOLUNTEERS to assist as follows:
Experienced dog savvy handlers.
Strong people who can help move anesthetized dogs to and from recovery.
Individuals to help with paperwork, washing instruments, cleaning crates, setting up/breaking down equipment (all the equipment is mobile).
People to assist with coordination of potluck lunches.
This is a terrific opportunity to help reduce the number of unwanted animals in our community. Spay/neuter saves lives.
