Sonny (Sunshine) & Joi (Sophie) made it all the way to their forever homes in Ohio from Kuwait after waiting months on months in a crowded shelter!✈️ these two sweethearts are so full of love and have their best lives ahead of them! They’re truly the gift that keeps on giving and we couldn’t be more excited for their families this holiday season! 🎁 thank you for choosing to adopt!🩷

Diesel’s still looking for his people💕

He’s extremely loyal, loving & playful. This sweetheart would love a family to call his own this holiday season. He gets along well with other animals with the help of proper introductions, is a strong 4 year old XL American Bully, fully vetted & housebroken.

As with any adopted animal he will likely need an acclimation period when going to a new home after all the changes he’s been through but we’re here to help ensure it goes smoothly every step of the way.🫶🏽

This Giving Tuesday, we’re asking for your help to give second chances to animals who need it most. At Empathy For Animals, every day is a chance to rewrite a story—stories of rescue, love, and hope for animals who deserve better.

It is no secret that we are a small foster based rescue that runs solely off the generosity of our community’s donations. When we save an animal, you are just as much saving that animal as we are by donating towards their necessary veterinary care. Every animal that comes into our care we are 500% dedicated to their care no matter if they cost us $200 or $5000. We are a strictly no-kill rescue and can guarantee that every animal that comes into our care will end up with an incredible life after adoption. 🌟

You’re going to see a lot of this big baby until he finds his family🤍

We’ve posted lots of details on Diesel in previous posts but we’ll continue to share in hopes the right person will see him.

Diesel is a fully vetted 4.5 year old XL American Bully. He’s extremely strong and needs an experienced owner ideally with a fenced in yard. He’s an extreme love bug, very loyal and loves to sleep in bed with his humans. He’s wonderful in public with his people, very kind and gentle to everyone he’s met.

He has done well with our resident dogs but we did do slow introductions so nobody got overwhelmed. His past foster home he did well with their cats and would actually cuddle them but so far he’s very interested in ours so we’ve had to slow it down. He’s a huge strong boy who loves to play, we don’t want any accidents with small children so we don’t recommend a home with them at this time.

He is 🥁 Housebroke!!!!!

He has some separation anxiety when we leave him for the day but we’ve been working the steps to help get him settled and we’re confident with a patient owner he’ll get there with you too. As of now we have stopped crating him because it wasn’t ideal for him and since he’s Housebroke we’ve been leaving him out.

Diesel is looking for his FOREVER home!!❤️ this boy has been through so much and we really want his next home to be his last.

Things to know about Diesel:
💫fully vetted
💫4-5 years old
💫house broke!
💫loves to cuddle in bed and be by his people
💫loves to play with his toys
💫diet: iams lamb & rice kibble
💫overall walks well on his leash but he is STRONG. If he sees something exciting he’ll likely pull like any dog, he needs a strong owner who’s able to handle him as he’s a 110 lbs XL American bully.
💫very loyal, especially loves his foster dad
💫dog and cat friendly!
⛈️ very afraid of storms when left home alone; recommended by past foster to give him medication to help ease him; is fine whenever he’s with his people
👶🏼 history with children is uncertain so we won’t adopt to a home with small kids at this time
❗️ he will need a patient and committed adopter while he adjusts as it can be stressful for him initially when he’s left alone 🥺 (we’re working on figuring out what works best for him for a smooth transition)
🏡 fenced in yard or a strong person capable of taking him out on a leash every single time is necessary; loud noises scare him and he could take off if not leashed (he’s just a big ole baby)

❤️with this being said, he still needs proper introductions to other animals. Diesel was used by a breeder for 4 years, then in a home for 4 months, then a foster home for 4 months and now here in a new foster. He’s been through so many changes it can be confusing and overwhelming, he needs a knowledgeable adopter who can allow him time to acclimate to his new home. While he’s a wonderful dog, we still do encourage someone who’s interested in positive reinforcement training with him to continue growing.

We have a new friend coming into foster this weekend with us🙏🏽 introducing Diesel❤️

He was originally used for breeding before his luck changed and was saved by a wonderful rescuer in Florida. He is both cat AND dog friendly. !!!!!!!
His history around children is uncertain at this time so we will not take the chance sending him to a home with small kids right now. His only real quirk is that he has been very scared when left home alone during the very bad storms they were having in Florida. Their hopes are that he doesn’t have to experience that anymore here in Ohio.

He is 4 years old, fully vetted, 110 lb XL bully & said to be very sweet and lovessss sleeping in bed🥹

We are beginning to put feelers out for the right home for him so he hopefully doesn’t have to be in foster for long. He deserves a chance at an amazing life.

Jessy is looking for her forever home🤍

This sweet girl is fully vetted, 3 years old, cat, dog and kid friendly!
She was dumped on the streets of Egypt while pregnant by her owner. Consequently, a car crushed her and broke her jaw💔 she is now fully recovered and able to her make her way to the states to find an amazing home on December 20th.

Meet Sunshine 🌞

8 months ago this sweet boy was rescued from a busy road in Kuwait, seconds away from being run over by cars. He was extremely matted and neglected. Needless to say, he was so happy to be rescued.

Sunshine is described to be among the sweetest, kindest, friendliest dogs icarekuwait has ever rescued. He loves people and is great at meeting strangers. He loves running on green grass and being on our field at the shelter. He was also fostered by a kind woman for 4 months and he did excellent in the house. Sunshine is leash trained and potty trained.

He is good with other dogs, cats and has met an 8 year old child and done well. He is 3 years old, 18 lbs and fully vetted. He would do great with an active family who’d love to take him on walks.

He will be arriving the day after Thanksgiving and ready to go home. His adoption fee is $300.

We have two very special dogs that will be making their way here from Kuwait that have been saved from some form of neglect, abuse or abandonment. The first is Sophie💗

They do not have the same chance at finding forever homes there as we do here so she’s been waiting in their overcrowded shelter for nearly a year now.

She’s a little under 3 years old, 20 lbs, fully vetted, good with both dogs, cats and has met an 8 year old child and done very well. She would be happy in a home with other dogs or someone who can be home more often than not to spend time with her.

Her personality is described as: “ bubbly, playful, loves to relax on the grass, loves treats. She is one of the sweetest rescue dogs we have. She has never been aggressive to any dogs or humans. She is very good with other dogs regardless of their size. She does not like to be left alone much.”
