Keep your pet safe at home (and out of the emergency room) by having them spayed or neutered at your regular veterinarian. Spaying and neutering not only reduce pet overpopulation by preventing unwanted litters, but also protect your pet from many serious—often life-threatening—reproductive emergencies.

Did you know spaying and neutering are not only good for your pet’s physical health, but their emotional health as well? Spaying and neutering decrease hormone-driven behaviors, resulting in a calmer, happier, more emotionally and socially stable pet. If your pet is already displaying some of these less-desirable behaviors, additional training may be necessary to help them learn new and more appropriate behavior (although we believe more training is always a good idea!)

It’s time to meet Taconic Veterinary Center’s latest Pet of the Week who is a real-life cat-robat!

Meet GG, a.k.a. Gorgeous George, a 1.5-year-old black domestic shorthair who proves that brains, beauty, and balance can all come in one purrfect package 😻 GG spends his days studying 📖 the mysteries of the world such as how to open treat bags and why humans insist on closing doors. When he’s not deep in thought, you can find GG practicing acrobatics throughout the house including flipping, leaping, and landing with the grace of a tiny, furry gymnast. It’s a good thing you’re cute, GG! 🐾❤

We are paws-itively smitten with Taconic Veterinary Center’s Pet of the Week, Lilly!

Lilly is a 1-year-old basset hound/standard poodle mix who is just the right balance of goofy, smart, and cuddle bug! Lilly was adopted from Tristate Basset Hound Rescue and has been stealing hearts ever since. She’s a total family gal...whether she’s snuggling up with her basset mix brother Archie, romping around with her boyfriend Yoshi the corgi, or showing off her playful spirit to anyone she meets 🐶✨ And, if you want to keep up with her adventures (plus plenty of Archie cameos), follow her on Instagram 👉 .and.lilly 🐾

Longer-lived pets? Yes, please! Spaying and neutering your pet is one of the easiest ways to help increase their lifespan so you can both make the most of every moment together.

Sound too good to be true? Spaying and neutering improves pet health by:

🐈 Reducing or eliminating dangerous hormone-driven behaviors such as roaming and fighting
🐾 Virtually eliminating reproductive emergency risks
🐕Minimizing or eliminating certain cancer risks, including testicular, mammary, ovarian, and uterine cancers

Give your pet (and yourself) the gift of more time together. Schedule an appointment to discuss your pet’s spay or neuter surgery!

We’re doubling the fun, and the fluff, today with Taconic Veterinary Center’s Pets of the Week!

Meet Betsy and Madison, our dynamic Lhasa Apso duo! Betsy (9) and Madison (15) may be different in age, but these two have one big thing in common...their love for food 🦴🍗 If it’s snack time, mealtime, or even just the sound of the treat jar, you can bet these two will be the first ones in line with wagging tails and giving big puppy-dog eyes 👀🍴 Together, they make the perfect recipe for sweetness, snuggles, and a little mischief around the dinner table.
