I get this question, surprisingly quite often "do your dogs hunt?" My answer is this... I don't hunt not because I'm against it but because I don't eat what I would hunt. In my experience and opinion Labradors have an instinct to retrieve. It takes a lot of work, commitment and most of all consistency to train a dog to retrieve. It makes no difference if they are American, English or a mix of both, Labradors will retrieve. Franny is living proof of that. First and foremost she is a wonderful family dog that is loved by a house full of kids. She retrieves, she fishes and she swims.
