From tiny fighter to thriving and searching for her forever home 💪🐾

Meet Hot Chocolate Minnow, a little warrior with the biggest heart! When she arrived at Heartland at just one month old, this little girl faced a major challenge. Moderate pectus excavatum that was compressing her heart and lungs (her sternum and ribcage were flaring inward). But Hot Chocolate wasn’t about to let that slow her down.

Thanks to our incredible medical team and corrective surgery, she fought her way through recovery. After 4 months of healing, growing, and thriving in a staff foster home, she’s ready to find her forever family! ✨

What makes Hot Chocolate special:
    •    She’s a PLAYFUL little lady who loves to wrestle and romp
    •    Gets along great with other cats and even dogs
    •    Litter box pro
    •    Would rather cuddle on your lap than chase kids

🎉 This Giving Tuesday, we're celebrating an incredible year at Heartland!

In 2025, we've helped 1,087 pets find their forever homes, including our beloved Mugs, who captured so many hearts during his nearly year-long stay with us. (Who could forget those goofy zoomies? 🐕💨) Today, Mugs is thriving in his perfect home!

From tiny newborns needing round-the-clock care to pets requiring extensive medical treatment, each adoption represents a life transformed.

We've also reunited 305 lost pets with their families. That's 305 tearful, joyful homecomings!

Today is the day to make these stories continue. Whether it's providing life-saving medical treatment for a pet or giving them shelter, love, and full bellies while they wait for their forever home, every donation allows us to continue doing just that.

Buddie Girl hopes that everyone’s Monday is going great! 🐾🩷

This ten-year-old medium sized Bull Terrier is one of our long-term residents who would love a home before the holidays are over!

She is a sweet girl who loves a good squeaky toy 🧸 She is house trained and not destructive in a house. People are the thing that makes Buddie’s heart tick, she would love nothing more than people to call her own 💕

She would love to be the only pet in the home, no other dogs and no cats please. This sweet girl is all you need to fill your home with love and warmth.

As S(C)aturday comes to an end meet some of our adoptable kitties! 🫶🐱

☕️🐟Hot Chocolate Minnow is a small five-month-old grey and white tabby cat. She came to us when she was about three weeks old and it was clear to see that she was having trouble breathing. Turns out her ribcage and sternum were turning inward. Thanks to our amazing medical team who performed corrective surgery and a staff foster family who cared for her for four months she is ready for her forever home! She will need to be an indoor-only kitty with regular vet checkups. But she is a spunky little lady who loves to play! She would love a warm lap to sleep on and a place to call her own. Adoption is $175 and she is spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on flea treatment and vaccinations.

💣 Bombadier is a handsome, brown tabby who is about four-years-old. He’s a sweet boy who likes to watch the world through the window and will go crazy for some catnip toys. He loves some gentle chin scritches and a cozy blanket to lay on. He was recently introduced to another male cat at Heartland and they have been living together peacefully. His adoption is $115 and he is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on flea treatment and vaccinations.

🥫Ketchup is a two-month-old male brown tabby who is still looking for a home after his sister was adopted (his mother, Mama Cheesburger, is still searching for a home too!) He, his mother, and his sister were found as strays in the middle of September and brought to us and raised in a foster home. But now this handsome little man is ready for his next chapter! He is looking for a home that will love him in return for all the love he has to give! His adoption is $175 and he is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on flea treatment and vaccinations.

Fosters Needed! 🤎🖤❗️(FOSTER PENDING thank you to everyone!)

Hi folks! We are putting out a request for puppy fosters for these two 2-month-old girls Aragorn (black) and Gimli (brown). They are only two pups out of a litter of nine (the rest of the Fellowship) that we recently took in. 🧝‍♂️🧙‍♂️

They have been growing and learning in one of our current foster homes, but they need another foster so they can grow big enough for adoption. Big focus on socialization and house training! Homes with another social dog(s) and kids are really helpful. They would definitely benefit from another home with a fenced backyard and lots of time to help them learn. 🏡🫶

It is such a rewarding experience to help puppies grow and help them find their forever homes. 💕

Kittens Are Arriving at Heartland

Kitten Season has officially begun! Heartland is closed to the public, but our work with the animals continues. We need your help now more than ever. Make a donation today or shop items from our Kitten Season Wish List. Make sure to include your contact information in the gift receipt so that we can thank you. Monetary and in-kind donations are tax deductible.

Heartland has already received our first litters of bottle babies. These newborns went straight to foster homes where they will receive critical nutrition and socialization until they are old enough to be in the shelter. Heartland remains an open intake shelter for animals in Benton County. If you find kittens, please wait before moving them (mother may be hiding close by). If you suspect they are without a mother cat, please email us for next steps: [email protected].
