🐱 Happy Tails of 2024: Menace Edition! 😈

Who says shelter names have to stick? This adorable troublemaker came to us as Asparagus, but his new family quickly discovered his true personality deserved a more... fitting name! After finding his forever home in August, Menace has been living up to his new moniker as the sweetest little terror around! 🏃‍♂️

Rocking his stylish plaid outfit and ruling his cat tower like the tiny overlord he is, this former HHSC resident is living his best life. Complete with endless cuddles, plenty of attention, and just the right amount of chaos! 👑

These are the transformations we love to see, from shelter cat to spoiled house cat! 🖤

🎉 ADOPTION ROUNDUP! 🎉

Six purr-fect matches in just two days! Luther found his people at the Petco satellite location yesterday, while Pho, Eggdrop, S'mores, Squirm, and Squiggles (what a fun crew!) all headed to their forever homes from the shelter today! 🐱 Pho and Eggdrop left before we could snag a picture of what they look like now, so enjoy their cute baby pics.

We're loving this adoption energy for 2025! Want to keep the momentum going? Our doors are open this weekend (12-5pm) and we've got so many wonderful pets waiting to meet you! 🏠💕

🐱 Happy Tails of 2024: Mars Edition! ✨

Meet Mars (formerly known as Gru), one of our kitties who found his forever home this summer! It took just 3 weeks at HHSC, for this charming boy to meet his new family and now he's living his best life! 🧡 (first photo is him in his new home and second photo is his intake photo)

True to his orange cat nature, Mars has been keeping his pawrents entertained with his silly antics - from bird-watching adventures 🐦 and food-seeking missions 🍽️ to exploring the great outdoors on his harness! 🌿 They say, "He takes his duty to fulfill the reputation of orange cats very seriously, always making us giggle with his silly antics!"

This is what rescue is all about - seeing our shelter pets transform into beloved family members! 🏠

What a way to end 2024! Four amazing pets – Summit, Vermont, Dexter, and Navy – are ringing in the New Year in their forever homes! 🎊

Seven purr-fect matches made today! Among our lucky kitties was Sevigilum (meaning "my love" in Turkish) who stole someone's heart forever. And speaking of special cats, our polydactyl friend Michigan (named for her adorable Michigan-shaped mitts with extra toe beans!) found her forever family too! 🐱

Santa Paws made some extra special deliveries this Christmas, bringing 5 purr-fect surprises to their new homes! LeRoy, Soot, Nimbus, Aiden, and Elf brought some holiday magic to their forever families. 🎁

But wait - there's more! Three more kitties (Pecan, Two Toes, and Fuzzball) and our sweet pup Zappa also found their loving forever homes this week! 🐱🐶

That's 9 beautiful fur babies who will be starting 2025 in their new homes. Thank you to all our amazing adopters for giving these precious pets the greatest gift of all - a family to call their own! ❤️

🐾 Foster Fail Friday ! Sometimes those foster babies steal your heart and never leave - and we’re totally okay with that! 🥰

Meet Bear, the adorable black cat who convinced their foster parent (one of our staff members 🫢) to make it official, and siblings Peanut & Hazelnut who pulled the ultimate “you’re our forever human now” move on one of our longtime fosters! 🐱💕

Mama Dragon Update! 🐉💚

This sweet kitty came to Heartland at the end of September very pregnant. She gave birth to five wonderful fuzzballs (who have all found their forever homes! 🎉) in the shelter and then went to one of our wonderful foster homes so she could relax and raise her babies.

Now, this girly pop is living her best life in her new home! 🏡❤️ She has never ending napping spots and even has a new doggy brother - Theo! 🐾 Her adopter says she is warming up quickly!

🎄 ADOPTION ROUNDUP: Christmas Eve Edition! 🎅

Our hearts are bursting with joy as 8 wonderful fur babies found their forever homes today! 🏠✨

Seven of our fantastic felines have new families to curl up with tonight, including sweet besties Roxanne and Betsy who get to stay together (double the love! 😻😻). Plus, one of our kitties never has to leave her foster home again because her foster mom made it official! ✨ Our precious pup also found their perfect match!

And the holiday magic continues! Tomorrow, our Santa Paws Delivery Service will be making four special deliveries, bringing adopted pets right to their new families' doorsteps! 🎁

Just a reminder that while our shelter will be closed on Christmas Day (don't worry - our furry friends will be well cared for! ❤️), we'll be back soon to help more animals find their loving homes.

Today, 12 precious cats left the shelter, making this holiday season extra special! 🐱✨

Special shoutout to our tiny superstar Lint, who stole everyone's hearts from day one. This sweet bottle baby, named for her adorably fluffy resemblance to dryer lint, was lovingly fostered by one of our dedicated staff members then fostered by her now adopter! 🏠❤️

🎄 Holiday Hours Update:

Tomorrow (Christmas Eve) we'll be closing early at 3pm, but we're open for adoptions from 12-3pm. Come meet your new best friend!

Kittens Are Arriving at Heartland

Kitten Season has officially begun! Heartland is closed to the public, but our work with the animals continues. We need your help now more than ever. Make a donation today or shop items from our Kitten Season Wish List. Make sure to include your contact information in the gift receipt so that we can thank you. Monetary and in-kind donations are tax deductible.

Heartland has already received our first litters of bottle babies. These newborns went straight to foster homes where they will receive critical nutrition and socialization until they are old enough to be in the shelter. Heartland remains an open intake shelter for animals in Benton County. If you find kittens, please wait before moving them (mother may be hiding close by). If you suspect they are without a mother cat, please email us for next steps: [email protected].
