Frasier Creek Farm

Frasier Creek Farm Shipping Day old poultry and hatching eggs. NPIP We are a small farm in Corvallis, Oregon. We offer day-old poultry and hatching eggs shipped USPS.

Our NPIP # is OR339. Our primary breeds are Marans, the FCF Olive Egger, and American White Bresse. I've been working with Marans for nearly 15 years and my flocks are Bev Davis lines. I'm currently able to ship Black Copper, Blue Copper, solid Black, Blue, and Splash -(we have a dedicated pen of Black as well). The American Bresse have been on the farm since 2014. All chicks are $15. Shipping is

additional for next day delivery and only what the USPS charges me. I need a minimum of 10 chicks per order for safe travel. My ability to hatch is completely dependent on how the birds are laying. -One group is often not laying while another is.- I also keep relatively small flocks and cull heavily for breeding standards. As a result, flexibility is needed. I've shipped to central Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and south Florida with great results. I'm happy to offer references. Most importantly! I'll be honest with you about what you can reasonably expect within each group. My primary interests in these flocks is in their overall integrity and true representation of the breed standards. I often think of this work as a card game with equal parts of luck and skill involved. My goal as a breeder is to offer you the best set of cards that I can. In sending your inquiry, please offer me as much information on your goals as you can. I'm more than happy to offer you guidance and to help make sure you get properly marked chicks for possible selections in breeding forward. I can also simply get you the beautiful basked of eggs that you are dreaming of.

We’ve had incredible spring weather here in the Willamette valley. I took a quick video of the solid Black Marans this evening. The black on green is fetching! This is a very mellow breed and they become even more so as they age. The hens here are between 2 and six years old and the male is not quite two.

This last weekend I took a trip to South Florida and got to visit my friend and mentor Bev while I was there. She's been handing off her latest work with Bantam Marans and these are the current batch to go into the oven. I'm terribly excited to work with little mini Marans. The egg color is an incredible start. Bev bred them back to large fowl to increase the egg color, so bird size will be one of the first issues at hand. Thank you Bev!!! I hope to be able to share these sometime early next year. I'll be focused mostly on the Black Copper, but there are also Blue and Cuckoo birds present.

Hello 2025! I've got the lights on the birds and have started to get some eggs from most pens. The flocks are in great shape after so much quality time to work on them last year. I'm hoping to post more detailed information in the coming days as I have a few new Marans varieties to share. This year, I'm offering eggs of any variety at $5 each and straight run chicks at $15 each. Shipping is whatever USPS charges for the delivery. A deposit of half the estimated total will get you on the calendar. I have not taken deposits in the past, but I will be going forward. Organizing orders can be very challenging. I want to send out only what I would want to receive myself and it can be hard to predict who will be laying what and when. Knowing what your goals are is very useful for helping decide how to best fill your request. Each breed and color will present unique challenges and I'm here to offer up everything I've come to learn about them. I'm still very much learning myself. :-) Looking forward to hearing from you!

This morning I shared a few grapes with the Golden Salmon Marans group. I brought them home from a visit with Bev Davis a few years ago as part of an Isabel Project. I hate to say that I wasn't expecting to love this color as I now do. The Golden Salmon may be the rarest color of Marans in the USA. I'm not normally very impressed with the claim of rarity as it doesn't really imply quality in my thinking. However, I'm totally fascinated by the markings on the more ideal hens. It reminds me of fine penciling. So far, they have been laying really nice dark eggs and have met that test of a Marans well. The egg shape is very round and the bloom gives them a milk chocolate appeal. A very worthy variety!! I'll look forward to sharing these this spring. ❤

I started working toward the Frasier Creek Olive Egger somewhere around 2002. I had no goals or any real idea of what I was doing other than "mixing paint" with chicken egg color. These are them today! This last spring I began using them to develop a solid blue Olive Egger. They have just now begun to lay and the color is very much what I was hoping for. I'll be penning them up this summer and hatching later this fall. I currently have a lot of availability opening up for summer hatches or egg shipments of the classic version.
