*appreciation post*
Lisa here, and I really think this job is the coolest gig. I learn something from the dogs and people I work with Every. Single. Day.
Puppies. *sigh* ... PUPPIES ARE HARD! When you are raising them you go through emotional, mental, and physical pain and stress. One day is perfect, the next day is the worst. You bleed. You lose sleep. You learn things, then you UNlearn things. You experience joy and fear and frustration and love and despair. You get it all with a puppy (and probably with any new dog, really). It is incredibly difficult to maintain your composure and perspective. I get it.
Vincent the Brittany has been with us from the start. His mom and I go way back. He is a little over 5 months old now and is starting to really blossom. His mom has shown continuous and incredible patience and foresight. She reminds me how important those things are.
This little guy has gone from a biting, pulling, chewing machine (I was worried there for a minute), to a funny, responsive, RESILIENT pup. And it is all due to consistent love, boundaries, exercise, training, and TIME. and treats and toys and chewies and friends and car rides and and and...
I can't say enough about how grateful I am for the trust of the people who choose Valley Wags to work with their beloved dogs. Their sidekicks. Their friends.
This was a very good day, and I am so thankful.
