How will we ever manage to have fun while Bridget is away?!

Today saw us off to a good start with a small dogs (plus one level-headed herding dog) hike in the woods!

Jackie and I took some time to decompress before the big holiday festivities over the next few days! Jackie is still cautious around new humans and large crowds. To set her up for success against her triggers, we are prioritizing meeting her physical and mental needs *before* the hard stuff happens. What are you doing to prepare your dog for the holidays?

Frogger and Dodi had a fantastic time this morning! These two critters have gotten to know each other while enrolled in Growler’s Gathering. As they have been learning to feel comfortable around dogs, they have gotten comfortable together! I’m looking forward to seeing where their friendship goes after this successful buddy walk! Shout out to their humans for working so hard to get here!!!

Over the years, so many people have trusted us with their pups, their training journeys, and their hearts. We are proud of this growing community and are grateful for the chance to keep doing what we love.

To continue providing the high quality of training, communication, and solutions you deserve- we are updating our service structure and pricing. Some services will be reformatted, and prices will be increasing.

These updates will take effect on 1/1/2026 and will be clearly listed on our website and booking links. We will also be sending out a newsletter detailing the updates. Current clients with existing packages will remain locked into their current rate until those sessions are completed.

Thank you for continuing to support a small, local business. Not only are we committed to providing thoughtful, science based training and care for your dogs, we remain dedicated to continuity of care within the community. These updates will allow us to continue to be our best selves for you, your pups, and the care network throughout the Willamette Valley.

If you have any questions, we are always just a message away.

All of this today after a 10am class! Thank you ALL for letting us help you with your lovely pups!

*The dog in the last video is Baloo playing a nosework game. Darn Instagram wouldn't let me name him, but I couldn't forget him!

Tiring out the pups!

I can’t think of a better way to start off our holiday break! Here’s to another rainy hike!

*appreciation post*

Lisa here, and I really think this job is the coolest gig. I learn something from the dogs and people I work with Every. Single. Day.

Puppies. *sigh* ... PUPPIES ARE HARD! When you are raising them you go through emotional, mental, and physical pain and stress. One day is perfect, the next day is the worst. You bleed. You lose sleep. You learn things, then you UNlearn things. You experience joy and fear and frustration and love and despair. You get it all with a puppy (and probably with any new dog, really). It is incredibly difficult to maintain your composure and perspective. I get it.

Vincent the Brittany has been with us from the start. His mom and I go way back. He is a little over 5 months old now and is starting to really blossom. His mom has shown continuous and incredible patience and foresight. She reminds me how important those things are.

This little guy has gone from a biting, pulling, chewing machine (I was worried there for a minute), to a funny, responsive, RESILIENT pup. And it is all due to consistent love, boundaries, exercise, training, and TIME. and treats and toys and chewies and friends and car rides and and and...

I can't say enough about how grateful I am for the trust of the people who choose Valley Wags to work with their beloved dogs. Their sidekicks. Their friends.

This was a very good day, and I am so thankful.
