In 2005, I purchased property on Kiger Island and established a small blueberry farm. I grow the berries in a sustainable farming practice, minimizing any chemicals. Due to the small size of the farm, all fruit is hand picked and hand packed. Although this is labor intensive, I'm able to pick the fruit when it's perfectly ripe and deliver it within 24 hours from the field. Kiger Island Blues blueb
erries are available in the Eugene and Corvallis Market of Choice . They are also sold by Perry's Berries in southern Eugene
I provide berries to Peoria Road Farm Market in Corvallis and Thistledown in Junction City
Customers are welcome to come to the farm to purchase pre-picked fruit and U-pick
fruit. It's always best to check by phone or text to see what's ripe and already picked for you. This year I'm setting up areas for ADA pickers. Please call to check on what your needs will be. The aisles are hard packed earth and the picking is at easy reach for sitting. It's fun to come out here to a real island on the Willamette and check out my solar-run farm and my honey bee hive. Every year I sponsor a fund raiser for a local school. Feel free to ask me if your organization would enjoy chance to pick some fruit and raise some money.
