Senior Dog Rescue of Oregon is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our mission is to rescue senior dogs aged 6 and older. We do not have a shelter.

We are a volunteer-driven, donor-funded organization. All dogs are fostered.

🐶 Foster Needed for Sweet Piper! 🐶
Looking for a way to make a difference? We need YOU! SDRO is searching for a special foster home for Piper, a loving 9-year-old, 22 pound, Blue Heeler. She’s good with cats and other dogs and is an affectionate, snuggly girl who enjoys fetching, going for walks, and curling up by your side. ❤️ Our foster volunteers are the heartbeat of our organization. All costs for the care and feeding of our dogs are paid by SDRO. Fosters supply the love!

Piper was recently diagnosed with diabetes, so we need a foster who is experienced or comfortable with regular monitoring and care including twice daily injections. If you’re able to open your home and heart to this sweet girl, we’d love to chat!

🌟 SDRO Family, Let Us Reintroduce You To Nina: A Beautiful Senior Girl, Ready to Steal Your Heart! 🌟

🐾 Hello future family! My name is Nina, and I’m a 13-year-old Husky and Alaskan Shepherd mix with a gorgeous black-and-tan coat. While I might be in my golden years, I have so much love left to give! 💕 I’ve been with a wonderful foster family since July of last year, and would love to find my forever home to retire in!

I’m looking for a calm, cozy home where I can enjoy life at a relaxed pace. I’d be the perfect companion for an older, retired person or couple who loves peaceful days filled with sunshine, snuggles, and brushing sessions.

Here’s what you should know about me:
✅ Great manners: I’m crate-trained, housetrained, and polite as can be.
✅ Loves attention: Despite my Husky roots, I’m not aloof—I adore people and love being near them.
✅ Up for slow strolls: Arthritis makes stairs tricky, but I still enjoy leisurely walks (I can even go a mile or more!).
✅ Best environment: A fenced yard is a must since I’m a curious explorer. While I’d rather not live with cats or small animals, I do well with calm kids.

🌟Meet BJ: Handsome, pet and kid friendly, and those ears!🌟

Hi there! My name is BJ, and I’m a 10-year-old bundle of joy who’s ready to find my forever home. People always stop to admire my adorable face and those “Dumbo-like” ears—I’ve got a fan club wherever I go! Despite my age, I’m full of energy and love life to the fullest.

Here are some fun facts about me:

🌟 Dog Park Superstar: I’m a morning regular at the dog park, where I greet everyone—two-legged and four-legged alike—with a wagging tail. (Check out my video!)
🌟 Cat-Approved: I get along with my foster cat brother, although he says I’m a bit nosey (it’s true—I like to know everything that’s going on).
🌟 Active Companion: I’d love a big backyard and as many walks as you’re willing to take me on. I’m walking 5-10 miles a day right now and loving every step!
🌟 Herding Dog at Heart: As part heeler, I’m loyal to a fault and will follow you everywhere. Watch your step—I’m always by your side!

💡 What You Should Know:

I’m a happy guy, but I can be anxious sometimes (especially in the car). With a little patience and some Trazodone for longer rides, I’ll be just fine.

I have Lyme disease in its “chronic” form, but my vet says it’s not a big deal. Regular yearly checkups will keep me healthy.

I bark when I see or hear something, but that’s just me being a good watchdog.

🏠 My Dream Home:
I’d thrive in a home with a big yard, an active lifestyle, and lots of love to share. If you’ve got visitors, I’ll be the life of the party—bringing my toys and sharing my joy with everyone. At night, I’ll snuggle up and sleep soundly right by your side.

🚨 140 Pounds of Love Looking for a Forever Couch… I Mean Home 🛋️

Hey, it’s me, Duster! Still here, still fabulous, and still looking for my forever family! I’m an almost 6-year-old, 140 lb Weimaraner, which is just a fancy way of saying “big ol’ lovable goofball.”

Here’s why you should swipe right on me:
🌳 Outdoor Enthusiast: Got a backyard? Great. Got a BIG backyard? Even better. Got snacks? Now we’re talking!

👩‍👧‍👦 Family Guy: Kids? Love ‘em. Cats? Cool with me. Other dogs? Bring it on. I’m basically the social butterfly of the animal world.

🚗 Car Ride Connoisseur: Want a dog who’s down for road trips? I’ll be your copilot (but you’re buying the snacks).

🏠 House-Ready Hunk: Crate-trained, leash-savvy, and I know the command “kennel” (although I might pretend I didn’t hear it if you’re holding a treat).

I do get a little excited when new people visit—what can I say, I’m popular! But with a bit of patience and some calm introductions, I’ll settle right in and show off my sweet, smart, and slightly goofy side.

Hi friends! I’m Chloe, a sweet and sassy 10-year-old Chihuahua, weighing just 14 pounds of pure love and devotion. 💕

Here’s the deal:
🐾 I’ve had a tough time after losing my two owners, and I’m ready to settle into a forever home where I can enjoy my golden years with lots of love and snuggles. 🛋️

🐾 I’m an indoor-outdoor explorer, and yes, I can handle stairs like a pro! I even take Cosequin to keep my joints feeling spry.

🐾 Meet Pippa: The Ultimate Senior Snooze Queen & Sassy Walker 🐾

Hi there, I’m Pippa! At a dignified 10 years old, I’ve mastered the fine arts of napping and leisurely strolls. Sure, I may not be into the whole “run and fetch” thing, but I will absolutely rock a cozy nap next to you on the couch (or anywhere, honestly… I’m not picky).

Here’s the deal:
🎾 I enjoy a good walk, but let’s keep it classy. No marathon training here – a stroll around the neighborhood will do!
👀 New people and places? Eh, I’m not super into surprises. But give me some time, and I’ll show you my softer side!
🐱 Cats and small critters? Hard pass. They just don’t get my vibe.
🏡 I’m looking for a mellow home, preferably one where I can rule my new kingdom with minimal commotion.

Oh, and did I mention I’m part of the Diamond in the Ruff program? It’s like we get a little trial period to make sure we’re both fully on board with the Pippa lifestyle.
