Senior dog needing a home!
Roxy is 9 years old, Boxer mix. She is a little arthritic and her eyesight isn't the best but she does not deserve to finish her years out at animal control! Someone step up and take this gal home!!!

If your dog/cat gets brought in as a stray and you claim them you are always able to pick up the next business day we are open. We do not keep animals and put them up for adoption if they have owners that have reached out. The animals are returned during business hours after paperwork is done to claim them and any fines that there may be are paid. It is not the fault of Harrison County Animal Control, Corydon Indiana that animals are brought in by the public because they are running at large, most not neutered or spayed. People of the community do not want to see a pet out in this heat or see a dog or cat hit by a car because people cannot keep their animals home especially if the animals are in poor shape and appear to be strays.They bring them in so at least they are safe until owners can be found if they have owners. Every animal goes on a stray hold during that time we hope they are claimed but if not after that they are up for adoption as long as they are adoptable. Thank you.

Some of our ready to go dogs! These guys are super sweet and deserve a loving home and a yard to play in instead of being caged up at animal control. Unfortunately we have had 9 people reach out wanting to surrender their dogs in 48 hours so we have several more coming in.

We are looking to hire an animal control officer! Must have a good driving record and an active driver's license. No experience needed but experience would be beneficial. On call rotating nights and weekends in addition to day time hours. Job descriptions would include enforcement of county ordinances, welfare checks, educating the public on the country ordinances, and dealing with stray animals are just a few. This is a physical position that involves in dealing with aggressive animals at times. Must have good communication skills and able to handle difficult situations. Apply at animal control.
