Though we can't save every ones pets, we try to educate pet owners on their legal right to own a pet. No matter how much citizens have complained about him the Commissioners still supported his killing of animals as well as illegal seizures. This page was created in 2011 to bring awa

reness of his activities and to bring action to get him removed. Now we will monitor how the ACO that took his position runs the shelter. If the shelter and ACO's do what they are supposed to do and try to help the people and animals we will take this page down and support Harrison County Animal Control. Otherwise it will remain. Wow, I just spoke with someone that paid animal control an $80 adoption fee for a 12 week old kitten and kitten is not spayed. So much for trying to curb the over population of homeless animals.

County officials say three employees resigned and the director was terminated as a result of the investigation.

Since LaHue the killer left, Hardin has turned the shelter around. We have to give credit where credit is due. However, the naming of the adoption animals, came from a court case where the owner who was illegally charged brought it up in court that the animals all have numbers and no names. It was after that that the animals had been given names. So good job, now keep it up!

The Harrison County Animal Shelter got every cat and dog adopted on Wednesday.

Why do "facility" ran shelter have the opportunity to have "kennel cleaning hours" but home ran shelters don't? Why is it that in "officials' eyes they believe ALL people should live a "perfect" life, free from stress, emergencies, chaos, illness, etc? When you become an "official" does that job magically give you the perfect life we all want? Are they now exempt from "life happening"? I would not want to be an "official" because when you become one you lose all compassion and common sense.!!
