Many of you will have bowls full of this yummy-ness in your house after trick or treating... keep out of reach of ALL pets! Big dogs CAN and will get to it on the counter if they try! Little dogs generally cannot get on the counter tops, BUT can get on chairs and then get onto tables, get onto couches that back against a stand with a candy bowl.. and Cats CAN and will get it from anywhere! And cats can share with any pets! Keep candy away in cabinets to be safe!

How much are you overfeeding your dog?? The smaller the dog the more the weight packs on even with tiny extra portions! Just giving them a rawhide is similar to a human eating 9 donuts in one setting!! Yes 9 donuts at once! And that was just a snack! Imagine how quickly you would gain weight if you ate 9 donuts once a week!

Today is "National Pet Obesity Awareness Day" Overweight pets come into the clinic rather often. Having an overweight pet effects many parts of their life. Their life span can be shortened and many health conditions directly related to obesity.

This big fluffy guy was boarding with us recently! He is a diabetic cat, so the owners trust us boarding him to keep up with his medicine needs while they are away! We have many diabetics that board with us for the same reason, rather than worry the house/pet sitter is not able to safely give insulin.
