Cuddled up in the house with the dogs today. I don’t work horses when it is under 20 degrees, so enjoying my time in the warmth. With an outdoor arena and snow, under 20 is to hard to properly warm up and cool down a riding horse (for me)
What temp do you say no to riding?

When people ask me why Skippy isn’t for sale….Ty was almost 3 years old the first time he and skippy stepped into the show pen together. And Skippy never missed a beat. These two have grown such a bond and Skippy have kept ty safe and sound. You can’t ’train’ a horse to have that bond. That in itself is a reason Skippy has a forever home with us! 💕🦄

A friend shared this with us this week, a photo she had of Mike and I from 10 years ago, giving carriage rides at Historic Roscoe Village, with our then Haflinger mares, Mandolyn RVRW and Marquis MJW! This was way before we knew them! How fun!

Annnnd the year end Gypsy Vanner Horse Society results are in!
RNG Kate’s Shadow ‘The Revolver’ finished the year as Reserve overall driving division and TR in the Shadows ‘Ronan’ was 3rd behind his barn mate! So proud of these 3 year old stallions and their first year of performance classes!
Thank you to owners Mark and Jessica Reed for allowing us to show and promote these amazing guys!

Lucky found us around a year ago, starving, skinny, and crying. He was scared and didn’t want to come to us, as he was another cat, thrown away by someone. Ty and I started feeding him outside and one day, he walked into the house. I swear he didn’t go near the outside door for months! We took him to the vet for a skin issue and he has been happily living with us ever since. Loves to be pet, but don’t hold him. What’s one more, right?! 💕

Mike and I throughly enjoyed our caribbean vacation, the sun, the sand…oh wait, we have horses and had a record breaking drought…so instead of the vacation, we bought hay….same difference, right?! Thankful to find some even though we had to drive to get it. I’m afraid this winter is going to be hard for farmers and ranchers in our area.

As the holidays are upon us, Each year I try to post some items for stocking stuffers and gifts for your horse loving partner/friend! I do not receive any compensation for these products, I just have used them and they are an everyday thing that I can’t live without!
First up, Effax Leder-Balsam. This leather balm is just so good at conditioning my work headstall and reins. I want soft, supple reins and this stuff just does a great job and a little goes a long ways!
Next, Jacks White horse bands. These bands hold up, don’t break, and I love the flip top lid that these bands have, it just snaps closed!
Finally, a little higher on the list, but something I use every single day, are Clinton Anderson halter and lead rope. I can’t say enough good things about this combo. I still have my original halter and lead from 17 years ago, and I use them every day! I’ve tried every type of rope halter, soft feel, stiffer feel and these just give me the connection that I need for young horses, not so pleasant horses, stallions and my show horses.
Hope this helps in your holiday shopping! I will try to post a few a week!
