A note from Dr Kumar
I purchased a veterinary hospital in 2012, which has now grown
to a network of four hospitals in Orange County. My primary practice is
Baker Bristol Pet Hospital, which provides wellness, urgent, and
surgical care to a wide variety of species in Costa Mesa. In addition to
my practice, I consult routinely with many rabbit rescue
organizations and serves on the Board of Directors of Wetlands and
Wildlife Care Center in Huntington Beach

One of my primary areas of interest is the diagnosis, treatment,
and management of urinary bladder sludge and stones (urolithiasis) of
small mammals. I will focus my discussion on key symptoms, physical
examination findings, and long-term therapy for patients that suffer
from chronic urinary tract issues.

My first pet (and reason for becoming a veterinarian), was the
kindergarten pet rabbit named Carrot. Rabbits have always held a very
special place in my heart and family. After starting my own veterinary
practice, I was excited to start expanding her exotic (especially
rabbit) patient load. After networking, she had a lengthy initial
discussion with Caroline to connect with Bunny Bunch, including
completing Caroline’s veterinarian questionnaire. I didn’t hear from Caroline, but after more pestering on my end, we finally met each other and quickly developed a wonderful professional and personal partnership for over 10 years. Together, we have helped to
save the lives of hundreds (or more!) of rabbits, chinchillas, guinea
pigs...and even a few dogs and cats!
