Went up to Mississippi this week to pick up this beautiful little holicer buck from Roe Williams 🥰😍 so thankful for her to drive to meet me to get my real Jem 🤣🤣 and excited to watch him grow and eventually show and breed him to my girls. On my way back home I made another stop in st francisville to pick up these 2 harlies from Katlin Gordon she so generously offered me to get my herd started up again. The black magpie buck is a direct son of Riot my best homegrown magpie with 6+ legs I recently lost to food complications. So happy to have beaux back and get some babies out of him. Also got a blue Japanese doe from her that I’ll be using for magpies (has a white foot). And today came back to my dad’s to pick up my dogs and took a look at his “meat” harlie litter… he always got some decent marked babies out of these 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️ guess I may be bringing a rabbit or 2 to convention this year🤣🤦🏽‍♀️

Didn’t get any big wins this weekend but came home with best of breeds for all 3 buns brought😁 EZ got lots of attention from everyone who passed by us and little Korra took 2 best of breeds out of 3 shows against my sr doe Knotty! Super excited for this doe to grow. EZ got a little pep talk before the shows from TJ🤣 Also brought home a couple mags from my dad’s litters that will be a little kick start for my herd. I’m gonna need names for those 2 a buck and a doe🤔

Well EZ did it again😁 Went to the FBRC Hop Til You Drop show in Alexandria this weekend and he snagged a 1st reserve in the rare breed specialty😁🎉 there were 11 out of the 14 rare breeds there! He was beat by the beautiful silver that definitely deserved that best. he also got some great comments and second looks on the best in show tables for the all breed shows. Congrats to all my friends on all their wins and everyone who was showing for nationals!!

Went down to Deridder to the LRBA state meeting show and snagged a lil 1st reserve in show with my baby SpeakEZ 🥰🥰 knotty also got best of breed and good comments. congratulations to everyone on their wins and Olivia for 2nd reserve with her Czech frosty and 1st reserve with her mini Rex in youth! Cant wait for EZ babies!!

Food change for the win! Still have a few being difficult but I finally got some does bred after over a year of trying and failing miserably. I *should* have a bunch of litters next month!! I’m excited to finally have some EZ babies 😍😍

Heading back from the Cherry Pie Extravaganza. Only brought SpeakEZ to show since I don’t have much anymore and he ended up coming home with a 2nd runner up in show for show A! 😁 also kinda did a little thing👀👀 may or may not have made a spontaneous purchase of a new breed for the Rabbitry 👀🤭 I’ve been watching this breed for years ever since before they got imported and always wanted to start with them and finally caved today and bought this beautiful doe that ended up winning best of breed a few times this weekend! Welcome to the Rabbitry ARBA’s 52nd recognized breed the Blue Holicer!! Hopefully she’ll have some babies in a month too! I’m so excited 🥰😁 time to start over and get back to showing!

Annnddd we’re out!! I had a great time at ARBA 100th convention 2023 with the best people I could’ve asked to spend my time with! I’m suuuuper proud of our youth winning in educational poster, 2nd place individual judging, management, 1st and 5th place broken jr mini rex, BOSV and best display Holland lop, and much more I can list but this post would go one forever. That’s how awesome everyone did!! I got to finally meet my harlie fam, picked up 2 beautiful lilac does from some awesome people, got to see a couple breeds I’m interested in in person, and experienced our 52nd recognized breed get accepted!!! Blue holicer!! Yay! I’m gonna start saving up now for next year and maybe do giveaways, fund raisers and fun contests throughout the year to try and raise money to go. If you want to be on my waiting list for new litters message me because I’ll be breeding when I get home!

Some of you may already know or guessed since I haven’t posted in a while that I haven’t had a very good year. I haven’t had a litter since October of last year and started losing my herd then too. I slowly figured out that it was the food that was doing it. I was informed that some ingredients changed in the food and everything just went downhill since. I switched back to purina and now on 18% protein and my rabbits are slowly getting back into condition. Unfortunately I lost majority of my herd and growouts so I’m on the search for something worth taking home that I can afford to get started up again. I went from over 25 rabbits down to 12 total rabbits, 3 Lilac bucks, 4 magpie harlequin does, 2 magpie harlequin bucks, 1 Japanese buck, 1 Japanese doe, and 1 Thrianta doe that’s also an old girl so can’t show and probably only has one litter left in her. So I’m taking a trip to Louisville Kentucky to ARBA’s 100th Convention thanks to my good friends for offering me a ride and sharing a hotel. Hopefully I can find something worth taking home that doesn’t cost an arm,leg and my soul. I’m excited to attend my first ever convention though and meet the harlie fam!!

Just got home and saw this buck peek his head at me and I was like oooooh! Cant wait til he’s fully matured because 😍😍 still doesn’t like to pose for pictures but he’s by far my favorite buck I’ve produced. He won a best opposite s*x at Monroe and would’ve also need BOB if he wasn’t 3 oz under😭 dang S-word 🤣 I added a pic of his dad when he was his age and him matured for an idea of why I’m so excited lmao

Awesome time at the LRBA State Meeting Show!! Got to show with some of my harlie fam and spent time with the show fam🥰 got some great comments on everyone. Syringa Lilacs SpeakEZ got double best of breed Lilac, TG427 got Best Opposite of breed today and BBRIOT (Riot) got best of breed last night. My little Jr Lilac Magpie buck got 1st both shows and great comments too. Congrats to Felicia Atkins and Abigail Williams for their Best Of Breed with their Blue Magpie Sr Doe today!! And I am sooooo proud of our Louisiana youth this weekend. Some best in shows, reserve in show and 2nd reserve in shows, BOBO and best of breed Dutch specialty!! Next show is the April show! Should have a bunch of harlies that show!!

Just showing one some growouts I’m excited for! And my convention doe that I purchased back in October. All of these were shown this weekend and the lilac magpie harlie last weekend and this past weekend and they all got awesome comments! Even got told that I deserve to go to convention this year by multiple judges which really made me happy🥰 they are a bit chewed up but their type is there! Loving the lilac jr buck Chewy (choppy and chewy were named by Alan Rafferty this weekend 😂😂) he even won the title “Best Louisiana Fur” 🤣 and Choppy got best opposite Louisiana Fur under Allen Mesick 🤣🤣 I’m excited to breed IS3 and Choppy with my SpeakEZ soon after I show them a bit more🥰 hopefully I’ll get some cute babies!! Also got great type comments on my harlies which is amazing because that’s what I’m working on!! Feels so good to know I’m doing it right. The lilac Japanese doe got good comments saying she’s gonna be a very nice doe when she’s in prime…maybe a convention entry..?🫣🤔 Banjo (BBFJ001) got a best opposite s*x in Monroe and some good comments in general. was told by all judges he was the best typed and most balanced Thrianta on the table 🥰🥰 also great color evenness just needed to get his sr color in and was lacking in coat texture and density which I knew already. But that makes me happy that I’m getting somewhere with them too!!!🥰🥰

This is just a random post to show you how random harlequin development can be. People come to me wanting a ”show quality” animal and want to breed too but when offered a decent brood quality animal they turn their nose and I never hear from them again. FW01 was my first magpie buck I started from and MV826 and CB9 are my first magpie does. Most of my stock has come from those 3 rabbits. BBIVY and BBDRE are both out of MV826 and are littermates. They are still producing some of the best show animals I have produced to date. They gave me BBLD02, BBLD01, BBRI01, BBRI02, and many more. CB9 is my best magpie buck, BBRIOTs’ dam. and he is about to be granded with 5+ legs. With harlequins it’s a gamble to get a showable rabbit let alone a “show QUALITY” rabbit. I’m not the best with editing so hopefully you can understand the pictures lol. These are just some examples of type development which I’ve been working on in my harlequins. But you can also see the markings improved also as far as clarity and alternations go. Breeding harlequins is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get.

S O L D BBHI002 1️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ lilac jr doe entered in the show for this weekend. Nice doe overall she’s just not as balanced as her sister and long in the shoulders. She’s nice and solid and wide though so will make a really nice brood doe.

BBRI03 4️⃣5️⃣ magpie harlequin jr buck. Nice buck just lacking chest marking and a bit of alternation. Long in the shoulders but a decent typed buck for a harlie. Showable but not sure if I’m entering him this weekend just due to funds. I can if youre interested and wanna help with his fees just pm me.

S O L D BBTGC02 3️⃣5️⃣ lilac Japanese harlequin jr doe. Can be brought this weekend. Has white on her and no body markings so not showable. Has really nice clarity of color and nice lilac color. Would be a great brood doe for magpie line or a great pet.

BBLD04 3️⃣5️⃣ lilac magpie harlequin jr buck. Can be brought this weekend. In my opinion dutch marked and has no face split so not showable. He would make a good typey brood buck or a great pet.

BBRI01 5️⃣5️⃣ magpie harlequin jr buck. entered for this weekend and showed this past weekend. A nice buck overall and I was growing hun out for myself. I’m just getting a different buck and don’t have the room for him. he got really good comments this past weekend and took some 1st and 2nd places in his class. Nice solid buck if you’re working on type. Wont be upset if he doesn’t find a 🏡 though because I like him a lot.

Just did some tattoos on some older jrs and found some cutiessss🥰 nice little Lilac jr doe BBHI001 and buck (didn’t get posed pic) BBHI003. BBHI002 jr doe might be 👀 to hop after I show her a few times next month so if you’re interested pm me. She doesn’t like posing at all so pic isn’t the best but she isn’t a bad doe. I just like her sister better. I also found a cuuuuttteeee little buck out the youngins. He’s DEFINITELY a grow out now!!😍😍 can’t wait til he’s big enough to show!!
